I just finished a project I have been working on for 4-6 weeks off and on and the last week Ive been beating on it constantly.

I'm not blown away by parts much anymore but I just engineered the mostbadestassed part that I have built since I built the billet Banshee and Superjet cases.

I left the shop at 9 on Tuesday and 8 last night, I could hardly sleep last night knowing I was so close to finishing.

I just had to share the elation with you peeps.

It is good to have clients willing to pay to have parts built that no one else has.

I'm glad I was given the opportunity to do it.

I don't even pretend to understand the purpose of these non stop threads, but I gotta say if there's no meat in the bun from here on out we are gonna start deleting them.. LOL

RD

The purpose was laid out in post 1 sir.

Just sharing my elation. Im sure if I looked I could find SEVERAL other threads on this very board with the same jist.....

Common post: "Hey guys, I had a good day, my kid graduated 5th grade."

RDs response, "Post some pictures, or something I deem to have some meat, or I'll delete your thread."

Good grief bud.....I completed a hard project and was just sharing I had a good fucking day.

If you aren't happy with that, it's your world, be the king and delete away.

Dick.

At least tell us what you made if no pics. [emoji55]

Btw... Congrats on that feeling of achievement! It always feels good when there is a beginning, middle, and end ! [emoji106]

I've seen it and it's absolutely top shelf. He can't post pics, top secret, right up there with the "Manhatten, little boy project" in importance. Way to go Brian. :)

I'm just saying I don't understand the point of some of these threads? It's almost like what someone else said either the last time (or maybe it was the time before?) one of these threads came up.. "I open it and just die a little inside when there's nothing there." If there's really something that top secret going on down there, why even bring it up? Or if you are intending on sharing being elated say "Just having a really good day, works going well." But to build it up and yank the rug constantly is just "blah."

I.E. Blah - http://www.riverdavesplace.com/forums/showthread.php?163314-Last-weekends-project-Rev-1

It's literally two pictures of stock material toe clamped in a mill.

Blah - http://www.riverdavesplace.com/forums/showthread.php?163313-3K-care-package-of-the-day

It's literally just a picture of a bunch of material that arrived on a shop floor.

This one started off kinda Blah, but recovered eventually with a picture of the actual parts on page 3/4. By the time the pics were posted though everyone assumed it was like the others so nobody went back to look at it. (even myself just saw them right now, and I always click on machining threads) http://www.riverdavesplace.com/forums/showthread.php?162805-Reviving-a-couple-projects-at-the-shop

This one was great.. The complete debacle of something terrible happened at the shop.. You got a new bury a body friend the day before, and now were dreading the day going to work. (Still don't know what any of that was about.. But I guess we all know the day turned out ok because your still here?)

http://www.riverdavesplace.com/forums/showthread.php?163967-Days-you-dread-to-go-to-work

This one started off great.. Page 19 we got a picture of Delrin in the chuck and the turret. Was really hoping to see some pics of the machine in the shop, maybe moving it in.. Some pics of the graveyard where all these buddies are burying bodies? Just something.

Honestly man I'm just scrolling through some recent threads.. This has been going on for awhile now.

The point I'm making Brian is you post this stuff, everyone gets all excited to see something, anything.. and the rug gets pulled like 85% of the time.

I don't think you understand the frustration with it so I'll try to explain. You post something like "Got a new machine" People on here (myself included) are like "That's flippin cool man!! Congrats!! We are stoked for you" and then it's like "Well you can't see the machine." LOL.. Your not on the other side of that but if you were you'd be sitting there thinking "Oh.. ok I guess?" After about the 10th time though you'd probably have a different point of view.

In addition.....if you will, please list the forum rules I violated with this thread so I can be sure to not violate them in the future. ;)

thanks in advance,

Brian

Brian let me sum up the enforcement on RDP. We hardly delete anything. We are without a doubt the loosest run forum that I'm a member of by far, certainly the loosest run one in this industry. We aren't Nazi's.. We don't ban people unless it's flat ass a last resort. We try to work with members if somehow wires get crossed with another guy or even with us. We proactively moderate the board (always have) watching for things that maybe developing and then trying to gently turn the direction of the content back to something better.

If you go to most boards they have rules laid out.. Can't do this / can't do that / don't do this or else / blah blah.. I remember in PB when they were trying to categorize all that shit and actually had like a rule book that was getting so thick it was hard to keep up.. LOL Rule 10.2A says you can't.

Our rules are simple and laid out at the top.. Don't threaten people.. Don't push it just for the sake of pushing it.. Don't be a dick etc..

Here's an actual copy of the rules of RDP in case you have never read them.

It would seem to me that everybody here has been on message boards before so I'm going to take a slightly different route then everywhere else with regards to the "rules."

(My faith in humanity getting to me again)

This is a Boating & Customs (anything custom) website primarilly. Please keep the topics atleast somewhat related? If it's just shooting the breeze, then please keep that in "The Lounge"

Common Sense rules are in effect.

The usuals :
Multiple Screen Names, Threatening Someone, Involving Peoples Wives and G/F's, etc.. etc.. That'll all get ya Warning, or two (depending on what it is) and then your out the door. I realize that there's alot of "Grey" areas with regards to that, as people have different ideas of what ok and what's not.

To clear that "grey" area up, it really doesn't matter what anyone other then Myself, or the people that are moderating the forum think. If your pushing it just to push it, then odds are your stay will be short.

As much as I'd like to have a completely "drama" free site, I realize people don't get along, and it's a matter of time before something happens. Keep it to friendly ribbing and you'll get no problems from me. When it crosses that line from "funny" to "angry" is the only time I'll ever get involved.

This is a PG site, so lets leave the Porn to porn sites, and the boats to the boatsites. If you'd get an indecent exposure ticket for it, then it doesn't belong here.

Rules relevant to bashing businesses

If you have a problem with a mfg / dealer / biz from either business dealings in the past, present etc. Then handle it in Private! Via a PM, E-Mail, Phone Call, Lawsuit etc.. Whatever the problem maybe, it is between YOU and THEM, not the rest of the world.

I have never been a fan of people using the internet to "leverage" what they want out of a business, nor have I ever been a fan of someone trying to hurt anothers livelihood through the use of an online message board. "Flaming/Bashing" the businesses that choose to participate in this site is not an option.

The participation of manufacturers & dealers on my website is far more important to me then some guys need to publicly lambast them.
Please show them the respect they deserve.

AMENDMENT TO BOTH SETS OF RULES.. NO POLITICAL THREADS IN THE LOUNGE, unless it's election time.. People are going to talk about some level of politics no matter what. #TRUMP2016!! (J/K) Seriously try to keep it in the P&G section.

RD

If you read through that you are basically going to find out there is no rules, other than what the mod team says "goes." I'm extremely selective over who has moderating abilities on this board, and I try to pick the most laid back / Jimmy Buffet mother fuckers on planet earth for the job that have a lot of common sense. Most of which have had some amount of suffering at one time or another because of some person or persons going through some psychotic episode in their lives and taking it out on them or me etc. Yet none of them have let them affect their ability to think logically and moderate the board to the idea of what is actually best for the board (in our cumulative opinion)

We aren't evil people, we aren't twisting our mustaches, we are just trying to keep it informative, relevant, fun, and active. To the point this thread is fucking lame.. Some of the other ones are lame. That's all I was saying.

And lets be honest here.. If this part is that gangster and you actually wanted to show it off.. You can post pics of setups / detail shots / descriptions / some kind tip or trick in text? There's a bazillion ways to do it without actually showing the part if it's that "top secret."

Brian this thread is heading the wrong direction so let me see if I can help it out. :). Awhile back Stacy took a pretty cool photo of my kid driving the boat. It was on speed on the water and several of the east coast guys got together and made one of those east coast race jerseys with it on there. Pretty cool that he finally got big enough to wear it today and he's running around the house all stoked on it!

Let's be honest here....

The NDA I signed for this part specifically states, "Pictures of the specified part, or the specified part in process, electronic or otherwise, without written permission is expressly prohibited."

Others I have signed say "Tooling, fixtures, or material related to manufacture of the parts....."

This one isn't that involved.

Well I'm very happy that you are elated that the parts turned out bitchen, and I'm happy for you that the job was a success. I have tried to explain to you some of the frustration that myself and perhaps a few other members have with some of the threads you post that just kinda build up and then nothing.. Either you're gonna get it or ya don't.

Like I said we are a pretty laid back forum.

I posted many pictures of the machine getting moved and the machine in the shop sir.

I think you better go back and look. :)

I didn't threaten anyone, ever. I didn't push shit, just to push it. So what is the problem?

I made a statement about how my day went and the two nights before, and I wanted to share with the peeps.

The thread is not lame, and I think yooooor lame, so there. :)
