Anyone going up?

I’ve never been but like Warren Miller says, if you don’t make it this year you’ll be one year older when you do😂

Done pebble several times. Enjoyed just walking Ocean av in Carmel in the evenings. Ferrari day at the diamond store was entertaining for sure. Historics are fun on any day. There’s a lot to see at Pebble without actually going on the lawn. Retro and new prototypes. On show day go to the “pits” while everyone is getting prepped to drive on the lawn. Watch the line going in. I used to have to be there before 4 am. I’m sure it’s changed a lot since I was last there, it’s been over 12 years but I still want to go and just hang out. Hell, just the drive up there is fun with groups of P and M cars flyin up the highway!

Not this plane though. Plane is behind me.

Edit: Found the plane.

I got my track and camping credentials for laguna seca today, will be hanging with the 911 Design crew, not a big presence but bringing a few pedigree vintage race cars for the track. Looking forward to breaking off from the races and exploring other events as well. I’ve always wanted to go to the jet center deal, used to have hook ups when it Mccalls party, but that’s no more, so it’s full pop ticket$ to cross that threshold 😂

I’m traveling light, hippy van with surfboard and e-bike, no wife, no kid, no dog. Should be quite nice. 😁

Tell Loren that Chris W from Singer says hello.

jet center event Friday night was always my fav event of the week. Quail day event good as well. Historics at the track typically epic. Never was a fan of pebble on Sunday.
Will do, you guys taking any cars up?

Nice drive up this afternoon, crossed over the 46 and drove past the intersection where James Dean crashed his spider.

I’m traveling super light, left the motorhome at home, grabbed a 10’ longboard and some cold water gear, might keep going north for a while after this week, who knows.

My accommodations are on point, perched up high and have no neighbors but us. Just did a late night golf cart tour of the track and garages, have a decent lay of the land at this point and will be able to move smoothly with my e-bike.

Wish I knew you were there. I drove in at around 4:00pm and walked the paddock until about 5:00 until heading to Pacific Grove to check in to my B&B. Meetings in Monterey and Santa Cruz today and then off to San Jose. Good luck on the track!
I pulled n around sunset last night, would have been cool to hook up. This whole thing is rad, almost everything here is a million bucks, mind blown for sure, very fortunate to be here doing this.

Any f the non race cars that are in the garage areas need to be approved and “fucking cool” for their own reasons. We have a sick little 912 survivor to run run around in, 35,000 mile car that is pristine and cool factor of 10. There is amazing things every where I look, it’s litterally overwhelming to process, some beautiful girl just walked by in a little sun dress and the breeze blew her dress up, to display some little white panties, life is good😂

After the racing yesterday there was a hosted event with FREE BEER and some swanky appetizers. Marching orders were given to put a dent in the keg so I made a good run at it with a few of the boys😂

After that we took the 912 into town for an amazing Italian dinner, I broke my diet and carb loaded like a bitch, but WTF, you gotta live a little 😉

Seriously jelly. I'll be there one year. Probably make a long road trip in my 964 ending in Monterey for the week.

Rise and shine. Taking the e-bikes into monterey this morning to ride around. If you like cars, this is the place to be on this planet right now, just unreal.
Wish I was still there! Even Tuesday the town was full of amazing cars! There was a show in Pacific Grove that had hundreds of vintage and new race cars. Yesterday as I drove north to Daly City on Hwy 1, I passed many of the cars that met in Kirkland Washington and drove down to Monterey/Pebble Beach between 8/6 and 8/14. One group was about 12-15 vintage Ferraris, another was a group of Packards, Cadillacs, etc., another was about 8 XKEs. I think it is called the Pebble Beach Motoring Classic.

We took the bikes into monterey and rode about 20 miles this morning, then came back for qualifying runs this afternoon, cars ran well. Gonna hit Porsche werks deal in the AM and then play with race cars in the afternoon.

Great dinner around the corner from the track and then we went over to the Baja cantina in Carmel valley for there Thursday night debauchery. Big boy private jets are coming in constantly overhead, I’ve only seen a few small private jets, the hardware on the streets is off the hook.

Please, what is that red car with the black stripe ? Another member posted a pic of that car from a recent Dana Point car show. Thanks for bringing Monterey to RDP 👍

Honestly I don’t know, some type of hyper car with $25,000 tail light bulbs 😂

Glad you’re enjoying the thread, really neat stuff going on up here that I figure the RDP would enjoy.

Thanks 👍

Well, Roberto's SL-C is one hell of a nice looking no-expenses spared inside and out kit car, with an impressive and exotic looking HTE LSx that should make it a legit contender.

There may or may not have been an incident as we were exiting the werks deal and traffic gridlocked. I’m now known as the worst crew chief ever up here, I pretty much just drink beer and point at shit. Long story short, egress on werks was gridlock, we were gonna miss our race so I reached into my off-roading background and called some shots, let’s just say “we picked up our ball on the golf course” and gave it a “little” bump to make par and get to the race on time. We’ll see if anything shows up on social media, my guess is yes 😂

I'd have to sneak in. There's no way they'd let my broke ass into a place like that. Thanks for sharing, Dylan!

The werks deal was $40.00 a car load for parking, very reasonable for what was there. I’m hearing that is $1000.00 a bed per night anywhere near Monterey this week, high season pricing in full effect for sure right now. There is tent camping at the track with showers and bathrooms, not sure on pricing but I’m thinking it’s reasonable all things considered. 4 day track admission is like $300.00. I think staying here and venturing out for the free ans less expensive events can be very reasonable. The hardware on the streets is just insane everywhere around here, car lovers dreams at every intersection, you of all the people I know would enjoy this week up here 100%. Every flavor of cars around, the Baja cantina Thursday night parking lot full of the most random and rad cars.

Glad you enjoyed the thread, I’ll tell you this much, I will be in Monterey for car week every summer for the rest of my days. I thought about popping the $600 for a pebble beach ticket this morning, but decided to go explore Carmel Valley for the day. Gonna toss a coin in a while to head north or south 😂

Most amazing motorcycle museum out in Carmel valley, entire collection will be available in late September, end of an era. I tried to buy a bike but they wouldn’t let loose yet lol

Decided to take the long way home, headed up the coast to explore some spots. For the most part schools back in and high season is over so it’s pretty chill. Had some bbq oysters that were insane, bourbon chipotle sauce and hot off the grill dock side, doesn’t get better than that. Lake pacific in full effect so no waves, may get lucky on the way back down when ever that happens. Wife sent a text this morning saying they miss me, that’s code for where the fuck are you LOL

Always wanted to camp up there.
There is some Motorsport activity there about every weekend, there are only a few unlimited decibal level weekends though so pick your battle. Very cool camp spot, make sure you have a toad to run around in and explore the area outside the track. E-bike is a must in the track area, but you can get golf cart rentals on-site as well, not sure if that’s a viable to everyone or just the race teams. I’d totally camp there again.

You're making the Van Life deal look pretty appealing.
