It's a wildlife preserve , slow the fuck down ...there's jet ski's , kayaks , pontoons , wake-board boats , birds flying and a narrow passage way . If we don't ourselves act rationally , trust me the Fed will step in and do it for us !

There is no doubt that restrictions and control will come in the future. Denial is ludicrous. Only question is wether it will come sooner, or later.

The best thing concerned boaters could do would be to either form a PAC, or get involved in an existing one ( I'm sure the LHCMA) must have one. Be involved in the process from the start and be proactive, playing defense is never good.

The best thing you can do is to either snap a picture of the boat, or write down the numbers or name if documented. It's a small community it isn't hard to figure out who's acting like assholes out there.

If it's a DCB, then call DCB and ask for Tony and tell them to deal with it and send the pic. If it's an Eliminator call down there and ask for Gary he knows most of them.. If it's a Skater call down to WCC and say "What the fuck.."

We just went through a battle with the USFWS over some of this crap.. and that battle IS NOT OVER contrary to popular belief. A second CD is being drafted and will be submitted soon. In their internal e-mails obtained from a Freedom of Information act, a 40 mph speed limit has already been proposed several times..

This thread just fuels that fire. It's all about the time and place.. I can say that I have run down that river at extreme speeds when nobody was around and found nothing to be dangerous about it. Much like New To Boating though the guys I ran with have some common sense and give wide births, or slow down when others are around. I don't know why a certain group of guys can't seem to get this through their head.

The problem isn't that the incidences of unsafe behavior are being posted here at RDP, the problem is that they are occurring. The fact that they are I occurring is what will lead to restrictions being placed.

So now that the original thread starter has vented why not remove this entire thread? Why let someone see it and tell a 'official' to go take a look. You have the power to do that. Us thread chaser won't let it die, history has proven we never know when to shut up

On Saturday I watched two big boats pass copper at about 130. I dropped to a idle and hugged the shore to enjoy the pass. It's a much much better and safer weekend for this type of race :D
