So the other night I was talking to my friends Chris and Krystalin and we decided we were gonna play some monopoly.. Well we had some other friends Troy and Kelly stop by and they decided to play as well.

I'm gonna say I haven't played monopoly since I was a kid.. Holy shit is that game ruthless and nothing like I remember it. It truly is the game of life. With six people the properties all got bought up and were spread out, and the negotiations were crazy.

Troy would have won, but he had to leave before he game was up, so everything got forfeited back to the bank.

I missed collecting rent once (you have to collect before the next player rolls and I was bullshitting drinking beers)
on one of my hotels and that little fuck up changed the dynamic of the game for me where i was having cash flow problems from there on out.

I ended up in second place and my buddy Chris ended up winning. It's strange reflecting back on the game seeing how one little fuck up can start you on a path, and one or two right decisions can set you for life.

If you haven't played in awhile invite some friends over (in particular business owners) and watch how it unfolds. You won't be disappointed. Oh and however long you think it's gonna take? X 2 or 3.

We bought a bunch of board games for the lake house, monopoly being one. I'm looking forward to playing.

Interesting history of the game...
http://www.adweek.com/news/advertis...ly-coolest-and-cruelest-game-ever-sold-166613

Monopoly remains the most popular game of all time, with over 275 million sets sold in 114 countries and 47 languages. "It's the ultimate American board game," Bensch said, "and it celebrates capitalism in all its wonders."

No kidding. The story of Monopoly is eerily like a game of Monopoly?right down to the trickery, the fortune and the failure.

Last time I played with the family, dad flipped up the game board out of anger and shit went everywhere... game over. 1994 or 1995

Not sure to say that sucks or kinda funny. ??
We play it with these teenagers and they are ruthless, then again they are female [emoji12][emoji202][emoji970]

Troy is not the kinda guy you want to play that game with ;):)

He's the luckiest son of a bitch alive is all I will say.. I almost accused him of being a dice mechanic. :D

Me on the other hand, I think I went around the board twice landing on income tax, and every other damn thing before I even got a chance to buy anything!

The girls wanted to play the $$ in the middle for the fines, and if you landed on free parking you get the $. Personally I say that's bullshit. Chris won the damn lottery halfway in. LOL

My two boys love to play but the long hours of traditional Monopoly were too much. Got the Empire version and that's some fast paced fun shit. Three players and usually game over in 30 to 40 minutes. We play three rounds and it's always the same result, the youngest son wins 90 percent of the time...no f'ing rhyme or reason.

My oldest son and I agreed to let the youngest roll first because he is the youngest. We tried to end his win streak by asking him to go last, didn't change a thing, little fucker continues to kill us. Like Dave, I've accused my son of having some kind of dice trick up his sleeve, I've even googled it to see what he might be doing...lol. Before he rolls he says, "I need an "x" to land on "x" and damn, it works for him. Me and my oldest just look at each other and roll our eyes.

The Millionaire version is fast paced as well but the boys can identify with the "brands" in the Empire version.

My parents like playing dice, dominos, card games, and monopoly.

I can remember as a kid my parents and neighbors playing until the sun came up and the shit talking to the losers until the next weekend game.

My wife doesn't like to play with me because I go nuts from the second the box is brought out. Like a shit talking basketball or football game. Once I'm in your head watch out lol

My brother (RIP) would always be the banker. Fucker would run loan sharking deals and end up confiscating properties...he never lost a game.

If you think monopoly is brutal, try playing RISK.

When you posted about playing adult Monopoly I had visions of purchasing strip clubs and houses of ill repute (as opposed to houses and hotels) and that the payments involved articles of clothing and couch action.:cool

I'm not gonna say who it was but during one negotiation the words were said "if you don't sell me that fucking utility you aren't gonna get laid for a month.". lol

I love monopoly my mom played a game of monopoly that went on for two solid days on a vacation once. Since that the rest of my family has refused to participate. I think the final straw for my wife was when I told my daughter if she wanted a loan to pay the rent on my property she had to give me the dog game piece and use the shoe plus 10% interest on the loan.:eek
(Now that I see it written out, my wife was right I'm a jack ass.)

We play games all the time at the river house, I'll have to take an extra monopoly next trip.

We play a version of Yahtzee called Yahtzee, Shit! It's the same as regular Yahtzee, except for your mother in law being three sheets on the first night after a long drive and yelling "Yahtzee, Shit" when she hits six of the same.

I didn't get board walk and park place....but got mediteraian and Baltic,,,and a couple railroads...I make it around the board... have enough to land on board walk a couple times...
so with a little luck I'll make to the end of the game...a bank error in my favor would be nice right about now though;):thumbsup
