Anyone ever recieve an international money transfer? I'm not talking the scam where you send someone $100 to claim your million dollar prize. I assume I can set it up through my bank? I sold some things on ebay to a guy in Germany and a legit money transfer seems to be the best way to go. I'd do Paypal but it is not an option for a vehicle purchase thru ebay.
Any advise/experience?

Thanks

Recommendation; Call your bank or credit union, tell them what you are trying to do and get their recommendation on how best to facilitiate the transfer.

Yeah, I'm going there today. My wifes company does international transfers all the time. But in order to do that, they submit account and routing numbers. I'm not interested in that.
Of course I need this to be safe and limit the fees I would have to pay.

Open an account just for the transfer and close it after you transfer the money out. Then it doesn't matter is they have your information.

i send money like that several times a year to australia. No big deal, other than once you send the money, its GONE. If you are receiving, than you really have nothing to worry about. all you need is routing and account numbers.

Thats what I did when I sold a car a few years back. The minute the money hit the new account I transferred the money to my other account and closed the new account.

I sold it for USD. I don't care how many krauts or ruples it takes. :D

Gonna see what the bank says.

My engraving buddy did a deal with some Italians. They agreed on a price and he was pretty firm about that being in USD and working any transfer charges into the deal. He basically looked at it like this is the cost of the product for him and if someone half way across the world wanted it, it didn't matter. They had a real hard time swallowing the exchange rate but they wanted it so they paid for it.

Also, the "candy" guy needs some shit built....I'll call you once I know more.

And, I have a custom chain guard for a triumph for a friend....I'll get it over to you once I have it in my hands.

While I have your attention.....Shoot me some pics of your chopper. And, could you please post pics of that truck and just make a thread about it. I know a lot of guys would be stoked to check it out on here. That thing is SICK!

And I have the GoPro back. I'll drop it by for you to use for a bit to help make your decision.

Wow, that was way easier than texting.

If you are worried about the security of your account, get another one at the bank to use for this transaction. Once the money is there, close it out. There might be a fee for this.

Man, this job thing got in the way of hanging out on RDP today.
Got an additional account for no cost to take care of the wire transfer. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

Cig-
Yes, for the candyman.
Yes, for the chainguard.
Yes, I'll get some chopper pics.
Yes, I'll get some of the truck.

How about a beer on my way home and I'll grab the GoPro?
