Day number eight for this guy. He appears to be swimming across the river at night according to the owners. He’s decided on different peoples ring cameras so he’s still alive and out there. He’s been in his neighborhood by My Place Rd. And possible Willow St and Dike Rd. . Please share and keep an eye out if you guys are on the river today and tomorrow.

I think they don’t want him to run…he originally ran off because he got spooked by fireworks. He’s only 2 so it’s still a puppy mentality thing I’m sure. Anyone that has a drone out there, owners would love a hand in looking. If you have a house in the area, maybe food/water outside?

I don't own a collar that don't have an air tag (5 of them), so much cheaper than heart break. Good news I doubt much is going to mess with him as long as he finds food, he has plenty of water. I hope they find him soon.

The problems with air tags is they only work when you are close to someone with Bluetooth. I use them as well but they arent perfect.

Yea I guess living in the city you just take that for granted.

Not sure I understand what you are saying?
Willow Beach is across from Bud Rd and Dike Road is the street/road on the AZ side that runs parallel to the river. Not sure what he meant about the shack. 🤷

Yes, there are now ring photos and security videos of him. I’ve been texting with the owner. He’s been fixed. So, he’s likely not chasing a female(s). She feels he’s just lost, confused and surviving. Tibetan Mastiffs can be stubborn and want to control things. Our Newf had one as a playmate. Good dogs, usually.

Maybe he’s been watching the news and he said fuck it, I’m heading back to Tibet ?

Good luck pooch, hopefully he is reunited with his people soon. That’s a sick feeling when your companion is missing..

Where the last time he was seen?
I saw something on FB of a guy following a dog that had a collar and leash similar colors and size but was up just north of the Ft Mo Walmart.

Probably near the water, or laying in a shallow sandbar.
This time of year with the water temperature change, I’m sure he can find enough dead, or partially dead fish.

Pools are another good source, but those are mostly fenced off.

Get a few game cameras and a few small bowels of food, and see if you can pick em up on one of them. 😟

Good luck.

He is very sweet. But we don’t want him to bolt. Last night we hear his bark, but unfortunately a vehicle drove by very fast and we think it scared him.
Paddle board, kayak, jet ski, drone…something you can go up and down the water line on.

He is a beautiful pup. I always wanted a Fila Mastiff but havent been able to swing it. Hope he makes his way home.

Thinking of getting the paddle board out. Not sure if I’m in shape enough to go up river any more though lol 😂🤞🏽
Is there a paddle board/kayak group in that area? Maybe check on fb and ask them to look? Explain there is a reward

His name is Mak for short. Wife and I have been looking for him to try to help, spent a little under an hour and a half the other night driving along all the desert roads on the CALI side and a few day attempts. Amazing he is swimming across the river but apparently he has done it a few times since he took off from the fireworks.

Julia, this is Greg and Angela, you and I have talked on FB. We are going to head out possibly tonight once again and this time we will spend time down on dike road by willow street on the AZ side.

When you heard his bark do you think it came from the Cali or AZ side? I know hard to tell but it will help.

Ya’ll need to get a drone group spun up and do some arial reconnaissance en masse over specific areas.

Dogs dont typically look up so drone noise shouldn’t freak him out.

I would think much easier to spot from the air.

You need someone with a thermal cam on drone so you can find him at night with his heat signature if he isn’t moving.
I’m not sure how that will work with the hot outside temperatures but somebody with the equipment would know

Have they checked the local shelter to see if the pup has been picked up?

Hoping this dude gets found / returned soon.
Gotta be rough on the poor guy with the heat if he's out there on his own.
I sure hope someone doesn't swoop him . . . he's not the type of dog people abandon . . .you'd have to be a complete kook to at least not turn him in to a shelter.
Praying for a reunion. 🙏

Congrats on finding your dog. BTW..I know Miles and Frank. 👍

From FB.

Thank you to everyone who helped search and who got the word out there. We were reunited this morning at around 10:00 Macalu is at home safe with us. He was beyond happy to see us. At first he was a bit timid but once we squatted down he started trotting towards us. He followed us without having a leash put on and just wanted to give all the kisses in the world.
My sweet Macalu is home.
