I'd love to get a mini truck. I keep thinking about buying an old used one from back in the day since nobody sells them anymore, but those are almost 40 years old now.

I keep hoping somebody will introduce one to the US market. - At a reasonable price. A 2-door model.

Lowered my IROC to start, traded it in for a lowered Dodge mini truck with balloon tires all the way around, man that rode like shit. Went into a lowerred S10, then a Mazda B2200. So cheap and easy to customize the mini trucks. Knocking the turtles off the highway was a goal.

Couple of my mini’s, went from street bikes, to minis, to full size trucks, cars, boats, etc.. I can’t keep anything “stock”
Toyota taco’s are still mini trucks, ford mavericks and rangers, chevy Colorado’s mini / mid trucks. All can be bagged
Im in a mini truck fb group. There’s still plenty out there, still shows, and new gen that’s kind of bringing em back.
The shitty part is, a new truck back then was 8-12k range so you had money left over to be able to kustimize. Now they start at mid 30s.
But we also opted for manual tran, no power windows, locks, we’d just add later, hell AC was an option ( usually the only one opted for) lol teens today wouldn’t even know how to drive manual, or unlock doors, roll windows, non digital anything

I miss the mini truck days. My brother and I were both in Seductive minis. I was 16 when I joined. We both built some nice sonomas as well.

Then we moved up and built lifted 2wd F150’s
I was in Stylin Minis and the spin off Ecstasy Minis as a mascot, because I had a VW. (I was also in a VW club called Volkenmenstrasse)

The Mini truck runs in the mid 80s were crazy. Sunset Cruisers Resolutions run in Devore was huge. I don't remember what the Parker run was called likely because I burned up too many brain cells. I think that was the Seductive Minis run. I always liked the 85 Nissan King Cab, but my step brother had the 86'1/2 Hardbody and we put that thing on the ground. It was called 2 Tricky.

I lost the mini truck bug when I got my 85 Toyota 4WD and went trail riding.

What was the spot in OC where everyone cruised? Angelo's or something. I remember the shit ton of mini trucks that would show up there all the time.

I’d really love a mini truck, but being 5’-17” is a curse when it comes to enjoying the cool shit short people have…

I’m 6’2 and my hardbody was a traditional body drop. It had a 240sx interior swap so the seats sat a tad lower…. It was miserable but worth every minute :D

Saw a shit ton of them in the W/B 40 today. Some trailer queens and others being driven. Really cool to see them.

I remember your truck club names and remember going to Devore. Wasn’t that truck around new years weekend ? All I remember is that it was so cold. I was in Little Mother Truckers

Anybody have a picture of the mini truck Dually conversion that was out there for a few years? I believe it was a Toyota conversion.

I have been looking at buying a mini truck as a daily driver but people are damn proud of them. It used to be $8500 was the top dollar you could for one that was done. Now that may get you a truck that runs and maybe drives. I had a bunch of them as a kid. Static dropped, bagged, body dropped on hydros, lifted prerunners but never left one stock. You cannot kill a 4 cylinder 5 speed mini truck, we tried. Thousands of miles all over the southwest going to shows and runs, never once did mine or any of my friends break down because of the truck. Now something we did to them was a different story. Some of the best times of my life were in those stupid little trucks and I made friends that 30 plus years later they are now more like family. I honestly feel bad that I don't know if my kids will ever have friends like that. But I am perfectly fine that my daughter will NEVER go to a run!!!

That’s where I was at. Driving one again at 40yrs old was always wondering if I was going to blow a bag or if compressors were going to work ok. Everything was new but still…….. quality ain’t what it used to be.
Thats what stressed me the F out! LOL.....i call that Risk Tolerance. 😂 I just dont have tolerance anymore.

When we were young, just didnt matter.

I was telling my wife the other day while we were driving about how my truck used to bounce (when we would just crank the torsions down and put leaf spring blocks.). But it was "cool" to bounce, and I showed her the lean and how we had to have a bottle of Evian in our laps and the bass just rumbling for blocks away. She rolled her eyes.

I'm like "If you were even alive back then, you would have been looking and wanting, trust me!" 😂 Kids these days......

I can assure you the glamour is gone man. And prices being jacked up is because everyone our age is trying to relive their youth just like Fox Body mustangs.

Truck Runs were such a "coming of age" for me as well. Ill never forget it. Some of the first times I stayed alone in a motel away from home. LOL....our clubs were like family. Just amazing times.

I get it, we will always love it! But that ship has sailed!

I was doing taxes and found a few truck run dash plaques. I have a lot more somewhere, I would have attend almost all the runs from 1990 to till 1997 in Southern California and AZ.
