Was it a labbed prop? Or did you hit something? I have heard when they lab them they get thin and can break. I want to lab mine but not sure yet! Not sure if it's true or not. Thanks...

This is the second time this has happened to me.

1st time was a labbed prop about a year and a half ago. I related it to fatigue, wear and tear. I questioned the fact that I was in water that was pretty washed out and maybe it could have cavitated. Felt like a train coming off the tracks! The labbed prop also broke near the hub.

this time, not a labbed prop. I was running good water, maybe around 5k rpm, trimmin her up again after making the turn around pilot rock headed back to island. Felt a little vibration and thought the water conditions may have had some wind chop and slowed down. And still felt it wasnt right. Stopped to check and sure as shit... again, tip of blade gone... Didnt hit anything, no sign of any other damage.

It happened to me as well while up in Tahoe cruising and just some weird vibration then saw the blade after I stopped. Sometimes I think its just there time to fail.

Just a little more Jack and a little less Coke fixed that!!!!!
Hey Camron that sucks but lucky that part of your prop didn't take out part of your drive!

you need to keep those nicks filed of the leading edge, a prop guy told me
that they will start a little crack that will walk across the blade ;)

Water looks awesome. Same here in central AZ. Great water this time of year.

How many hours do those meat cutters get on a performance boat. As an average of coarse.

I've seen this happen when there is allot of debri in the water. I've towed people in. Operator didnt want to ruin the drive. Something about balance.

Do you prop boaters carry a spare for these kind of situations?

YEP.. Great advice... Harmonics can kill a prop.. think of the load on that blade.. Little chip and soon turns into a crack and away the crack will run

Talk about a bad day, ask Gary Smith. He owns predator, and I believe it was 2 desert storms ago with the new boat, he had a brand new prop loose a blade and rip off the lower of his drive. Can you imagine that bill.

Do you launch and retreive by yourself. Just curious. :thumbsup

I do it all the time with my 25' Eliminator at the marina. Cameron does it also. He does have a slip also. ;)
