I have been thinking about getting a SUV, something like a Acura MDX, Jeep Grand Cherokee, Infinity QX60. Love BMW X5, not sure on Maintenance.

Can stand the lines of the Lexus…what are your suggestions…

We had an X5 and it was great. Had lots of power and got good mileage, I want to say 30+ on the highway. It was a lease and all oil change and maintenance was covered.

Just bought my daughter a Jeep GC Overland, I am really digging it. Has a ton of nice features and rides super smooth. I wouldn't hesitate to get one for myself, but I would want the Hemi instead of the V6

I love my Explorer sport. Its the second one I've had with absolutely no issues. 125k on the clock on the current. The previous one gave its life at about 110k when an oncoming driver fell asleep and crossed the center line at 65mph. My wife walked away. They were both mid 20teen 3rd gen.

Drive a sport with the 3.5tt They will make you smile.

Check out Volvo.
I know I Know.
Wasn’t thrilled when the wife decided what she wanted.
Is AWD, turbo I6, passing gear on Rice Road, 80-110 at the snapmof a finger. Surprising power, fun to drive.
Some parts are rather expensive, but they are rather safe cars crash test wise.
And did I mention? Is fun as hell to drive. 😈

This.

I had a line on a new one out of Utah in early 2022 with no mark up. Wife was trying to make partner at the time and didn't want people thinking she was buying a "mom car" or "kid hauler." I was like but but but no no it's fast and loud.

Annnndddd now they don't make them anymore.

We’ve had our Mazda CX90 for a little over a month and like it a lot so far. Great crash test ratings as well, it even beat the Volvo XC90 to secure best in class for 2024. If you don’t need a 3rd row the CX70 fits the bill as well.

If you are on a budget the Explorer Limited we rented for about 6 weeks was a nice car, very comfortable and the active cruise control and lane keep assist worked great.

P.S. go on Car Gurus and see how many of the cars for sale have lemon history. That steered us away from the Grand Cherokee.

Look at Explorer ST, or X5E. IF you decide on a BMW, DM me, I have a connection at Long Beach, close to invoice.

Hard to spend your money when we dont know the budget or if you want to lease or buy.

If owning was the choice--it opens, IMO< a limited number of options. Toyota Highlander for small SUV. We went Sequoia. Ford Explorer would be another option.
I would just encourage you to stay away from anything with a CVV transmission.

If leasing--then get the ride that fits your style and option preference. No need to worry about long term mechanical or maintenance issues. Could be a Jeep, Audi, BMW, etc.

Almost a year in with a x7 m60i. It’s been a great car so far and feels much larger inside than its appearance.

I had a 1984 Volvo 240 DL wagon. I haven't set foot in a Volvo since I got rid of it around 1995. I'm sure its more like a Mercedes now then the utilitarian no frills Volvo of old

Wife and I bought the Toyota Grand Highlander in the Platinum trim. Really nice with a ton of features. 2.4 liter twin turbo. Nothing too exciting as far as looks but very comfortable and quiet. Third row if you need it. I’m 6’2 and it has plenty of leg room.

Not an SUV, not a mini van, but if you need room up t o8 seats, see the Toyota Grand Highlander Hybrid. We purchased one for corporate use this year, under 50G at 30 MPG on the road with 8 people.
My Daughter was looking to buy one but new ones are hard to come by. There are plenty on the back lot--just cant be sold due to a recall on the passenger side airbag. Dealership said they are repairing all sold units first prior to repairing new inventory for sale.

You don’t like the new 550 overtrail from Lexus? Damn, that would be my choice.

Second would probably be the CX90.

I bought the .Mrs a Jeep Grand Cherokee 4x4 V-6 Version approximately 8 years ago. It's been the most reliable vehicle weve ever owned, and it rides great. Wouldn't think twice about buying another one. Although she's got her heart set on a new Bronco 4 Door Mall Crawler, lol.

ex mother-in-law has an Explorer that is a 2020 I believe. Its been in the shop more than her driveway. The Ford infotainment systems continuously have annoying glitches that drive me nuts.

I have some friends that have a new Traverse and love it! I prefer the looks of the Acadia myself. I've read the newest generation has worked out all the trans issues that the previous generations had.

Wife has a 23 Lexus NX450h+ and really likes it. 25k miles and I’m sure 20k miles of those have all been on the 50 miles of pure electric. It took on a whole different look after doing the RS-R coil overs and 22” Vossen rims.

I've had 2 Grand Cherokees. Loved them both. Perfect size for my needs, decent fuel mileage, good power. Great in the snow. I fit two 8' banquet tables inside it one year when I had a large group for Christmas. I personally think they are the nicest-looking SUV on the road, although I'm not a huge fan of the new model's front end.

I had both the Hemi and the 6 cyl and if I was purchasing another, I'd get the Hemi, despite the drop in fuel mileage. BUT . . . the 6 cyl could go 600 miles on one tank of fuel.

X2 on the X7. While it’s not a “mid-size” SUV per se, it drives like one with the real wheel steering. Oh, and did I mention a 12.6 second 1/4 mile with a bitchin 8 speed ZF programmable tranny. I fuckin love this car.

We just bought a Lincoln Nautilus with the jet black package and I'm very impressed with it. I have had the BMW's and Audi's so we decided to go American. We don't regret it, it's a really nice car. Of course later we found out it was made in China and took 8 months to get after we order it but we got over that.

Is that a matte grey? Looks great!

Waiting to see what kind of lease deals will be happening in Nov/Dec... a 3m competition would be fun...
Yes it’s frozen silver metallic. I ordered it in January. Love it but I will only hand wash it. Almost wish I went with the competition option. I sold my Hellcat Durango to get this but no regrets!

Ours is only hand washed too. I had the whole front, rockers, and rear bumper PPF’d and should have done the windshield protection but said no, low and behold we got 2 rock chips and I have the front windshield tinted with in weeks of each other. FML.

Ceramic coating the wheels has helped removing the large amounts of BMW break dust too.

My wife got me one of those handheld battery turbo dryers (an instagram thing) she saw. Anyways it’s pretty bad ass, and pushes water off with easy. Anything helps when washing this thing almost weekly.

I just traded in my 2020 GMC Acadia Denali. While we really loved the car, it was just a little smaller than we've been used to. (we had Tahoes for 20 years)
Low mileage 27,500, like new, AWD, full cameras, HUD, front & rear sunroof, leather, 6cyl, third row seats, all the bells and whistles. Listed @ Costa Mesa GMC - $31,000.

Traded it for a new Yukon.
