I have talked to several people who claim they could tell a difference in the Ride and Handling of their Vehicle after changing over to them. The mileage guarantee is not a huge factor for me, but I', interested if anyone in here has had experience with them and is worth the near 40% higher cost?

It depends on vehicle and use, I suppose. On big stuff, like my buddies pusher coach, it did make a difference. But, you were also sitting on top and ahead of the steer tires. On my 1 ton, I didn't notice much difference. They felt like new tires should, and my old ones had started to turn to stone.

My experience in regular passenger tires is that they are not worth the extra price. I think the the big stuff it might be a different story.

Their entire Pilot Sport and Pilot Super Sport lines (aside from the sport cups) are overpriced and you can find better options for cheaper.

What's the application.... Some cars yes, others no IMO. Depending on size, you may not even be able to get any right now, tire availability is on the same timetable for the Speed SXS.

What is the application? car, truck, passenger or LT?

Talking tires is like a religious debate :)

I have this Get Around Bomber that I feel the Tires are Noisy and the ride is Not as good as I would like. The Struts are New and the Hyundai Sonata has only 70,000 on it and I understand that might just be what it is with a Dispose-A-Car. The car was in an Estate deal and I only have $1500.00 in it checks all the Boxes, except these issues. Discount Tires will give me 6 Mos. no interest and a $150.00 gift card. I was interested in real-world opinions.🤔

I had them on my old '09 GMC 2500. They made the truck ride great on the highway. They generally are easier to balance, using less weight, than most any other tire I have ever run. Very few of them are ever out of round, as they check them at the factory (at least that is what the tire guys told me). For those reasons, I love them. However, their warrented 70K truck tire never got anywhere close to 70K for me. I suppose if you ran them exclusively on the highway, you would likely get many more miles, but running both highway and in town, I seldom got over 40K out of a set. For that reason, I quit buying them. I can get 40K out of several other brands for a much cheaper price.

in my case i went the other way on our Highlander.
went from the Michelin Tour ( I think they were) to a Pirelli Scorpion zero AS.
I do not feel the Pirelli's ride as nice.

If the price works out with the Gift Card, do it. That said a set of Kumhos, Nittos, Falkens, Coopers, etc. will also do the job for you.

On my Tundra I actually liked the Bridgestone ride better, but they were pretty bad at 18,000 miles, the Michelins look new at 30,000

I just don't understand the Noise? Maybe this Little "Ghetto Cruiser" is Not Worthy of expensive Tires like these, but I do Not want sitting by the road in 100+ heat pissing with a Tire Issue. I parked the Silverado, and as I said this does everything for a fraction, if it gets a door dent, etc. no big deal. I swear every crack in the Road it is like dropping off a curb, and if that is what it is no sense expecting a Miracle and just take a Step back and a step-down?

If the tires are old, they might be getting hard. Also what pressure are you running?

What is on there now, and how old are they? The problem with the Michelins on econoboxes like that is that they are generally hard tires and don't ride as nice as other tires, but last a long time.

What size are you looking at?

I think the pilot sport 4s tires are the best performance tire I have ever run.

They pretty much hook from a dead stop on my mustang. They also have tons of predictable grip and have worn well.

They are pricey so I probably wouldn’t run them on a standard/commuter car but on a performance car I don’t think there is a better street tire.

I bought some 2019 factory “take-off” wheels and tires for my f250 and the michies run great. Got the Kumho Crugen aka Michelin Defender copies for my Grand Cherokee and they run solid as well. I know there were a few references to the Kumho’s above and my only feedback is that they are really solid for LT/SUV but were garbage on passenger cars in my personal experience.

Michelin’s are typically some of the best tires you can run outside of Perelli. They are not cheap. Most high-end super cars come with Michelin’s to begin with and there’s something to be said of that

There is a reason that the corvette went from Goodyear’s to Michelin’s!! But not all Michelin’s are good. Application is a huge factor.

My RV came with some in 19.5. The ride is ok but I don't have a comparison. They will rot out long before I wear them out though.

I'm a big fan of the Michelin PSS4 for sporty cars and the Defender line for LT/SUVs. Get the best, don't fuck around with mystery tires.

I always put michelins on all my trucks.. They just seem to last and hold up the best.. My new ram came with firestones and they started wearing hard after 15k miles.. I stray away from agressive tries and just buy highway tires.. I prefer less noise and the longest lasting tire..

Had Michelins on my 03 Navigator and replaced them with BFGoodrich when worn to close to 60K miles. Both tires felt the same, Michelins lasted little longer. The BFGoodrich tires were made by Michelin at the time and were cheaper.

i just put my second set of Sport Pilots on my Audi. Great tire. I only got 17k out of the last set though. We were on our way to Thansgiving dinner a couple of weeks ago and we ran over something big and metal. It blew the right rear one instantly, but I was able to get off the freeway running it flat. Ended up changing it in the South Coast Plaza parking lot in my good clothes.

205 65 R15 After reading most of the reply's here, maybe I should just get a set of good tires, and if they don't wear like the Michelin's get another set, and maybe price wise end up the same.

I was quoted $141.00 @ Discount Tire.

That is a fairly pedestrian size so we aren't talking about a performance tire here.

In that size if you wanted something cheaper, you could go Hankook, Toyo, Falken or Cooper for around $100/Tire. I have had good luck with nice rides out of Hankook and Cooper personally. Continental is also good.

Bought at Discount Tire. I actually had one go bad (they were down close to minimum tread at 40K) and the mgr. told me that he was going to warranty out all of them and I got a new set. They were still on it when I crashed it out. I have never had a set of Michelin's last me more than 40K + or - ever. I always did love the ride with them though. You might do better with them on a car, but those trucks are pretty tough on them. If not mistaken, but I could very well be, I think that mileage warranty might be based on highway miles.

I agree, I recently replaced the P-Zeros on my Camaro with PS-4s and they're amazing and surpass my expectations 100 X. I've never driven a car that tracks so straight and so precisely. It's as if it's on Autopilot now going down the freeway.
First time I lit em up I was expecting a burn similar to the Zeros, but what I got was a couple of chirps, hookup and then me wondering how many times the driveline could endure it.

You can hear them clawing at the asphalt when you punch it. My previous nittos and toyos just spun.

There not quite mickey thompsons but they hook really good.

I appreciate all the reply's and as I said not really a Mileage issue, but the noise and ride are what I wanted to improve since I have decided to live with "Little Guy" until this "Invoice+" nonsense is over. Discount does rotate and balance for the life of the Tires no matter the Brand.

Just listening to them roll down my street with the windows down and they pull the pavement and hopefully replace it next rotation --- sounds like I've got gum on my shoes 🤣

The " Summer Rubber Performance" application that Cole Trickle and I are gushing over is entirely different than I suspect are your needs for your eco-commuter.

For one thing, I believe you mentioned going from a truck to this vehicle. If you're used to driving a truck, then jumping into a small car changes the entire aural experience. Trucks are more of a low frequency road noise, the small cars are high frequency noise along with the Zip Zip, Zip, drives me insane for awhile until I adjust to it. Used to bug me in my wife's Lexus as well and it was pretty damned quiet by comparison.
I know Honda's although great cars, used to have a negative reputation for rather annoying tire noise. I think folks just get accustomed to it after awhile.

You might want to go to Tire Rack on the internet. You can go by vehicle info or tire size. Then scroll the various make tires offered and look at the ratings and reviews. Hopefully you can find some customer reviews from similar cars.

Thank-You and I agree 100% on the difference between driving Pickups both 2W and 4WD and being so much lower and the entire driving experience. I am beginning to think my Sciatica Issue has been made much worse with the Lower entering and exiting this Vehicle. I believe your feelings are Right On!!

Again Thanks.

I'm 100% done with Michelin Super Sport tires after this last set. 6500 miles on these tires. As a comparison my previous set of Bridgestone Potenza tires I got 20k miles which I consider good for a 700hp/800ft lb sedan. I already ordered a set of potenza's to replace.

I have used Michelin tires on my F150’s and a Silverado for the last 10 years. Never had a problem with any of them. They ride good, get good mileage out of them and never worry about them. We’re always going through the desert from Chino Hills to Bullhead. If i needed to replace one on a desert trip there is a Discout tire In Fort Mohave.

I have 13k on my 4s and they still look great.

I like them so much I almost want to replace the like new toyo sports on my g8.
The 4S is OK. The SuperSports are good for a VW golf, they suck on anything with any power, and age out pretty fast.

I do like the 4S overall. I just feel there are better bang for the buck tires out there in some sizes. I have never been a big Toyo guy myself. Had a couple sets that were just meh.

It's a joke around here about the cars the young man in this old body wants to own and what I can actually get in and out of while retaining a bit of dignity. 🤣
My Camaro with those long doors is OK if there's nobody parked on my driver's side, otherwise I'm basically throwing myself in and hoping all my body parts follow.
I can't imagine a new C8 Vette unless I had the top off.

With my garage queens, they time out long before they wear out. My P-Zeros had plenty of tread, but I had to burn an 1/8" off to get them warm enough to grab. But hell, they were 8 (Garage) years old too.

2014 GMC Sierra CC 4WD. Bought new (it had 18” Goodyear wranglers). Over 70, truck always had a vibration and the tires were noisy. Road Force balanced by several shops including selling dealer. Never helped vibration. Switched to Michelin Defenders at 52k and could not believe the ride quality improvement, almost eerie quiet, and the vibration above 70mph was gone.

Always run the OEM Michelin’s on 2010 Accord. Noisy tire for sure. Otherwise ride quality has been good.

I do not understand the quiet on your PU and Noisy on the Honda? I assume the Tire Models are different for the two?

So over tires this year.. just replaced these in the last 3-4 months.
XLR-V —Michelin Pilot Sport 4S
SuperCoupe — Michelin Pilot Sport 4S
Audi A4 — Bridgestone Turanza Quiettrack

The XLR had run flats that were terrible. These ride so much quieter and ride is much nicer.

The SuperCoupe needed new wheels and tires, so I put a new set of 18x9’s dress out in the same Michelin’s since I was so happy with the improvement

Audi — went with the Bridgestone as they had just a bit better wet performance. Car is my Daughter’s up at Univ of OR.
Big thank you to LakeMead Boater—. Brandon for getting her setup too!!

I used to run Nitto NT555 on my Jags and never an issue except replacement every 12-14 months. I’m a very spirited driver.

The Escalade is running Nitto NT420v. Again no complaints for the first 3years but they are getting a bit noisy and rough on the drive.
