Anyone going? I am flying in Saturday morning. My Mom lives in Foster City and she WON tickets off the radio...[emoji12]

Going to be a bad ass show with a webcast and Cage The Elephant opening. Hopefully they will surprise everyone with The San Francisco Symphony and play No Leaf Clover or something from S&M......that would be amazing!!!

Are you kidding???? Wtf. Its Metallica for fucks sake, not one direction. That's the best the promotor could do? Sounds like a typo.

Unless they are a Bay Area band.

Cage The Elephant is not a top 40 pop band. They are actually very talented musicians and when I heard they were opening, it made it that much better. A little different genre then Metallica, I will give you that, but they are definitely not One fucking stupid Direction.

I saw them at Candlestick 2000. Best concert I've been to. Korn I think stole the show. The energy was tremendous.

I had this t-shirt from that show up until a couple years ago when I finally put it in its final resting place. It was well worn. [emoji3]

But it's at very odd choice as a opening act for a band like Metallica. Maybe they have a incredible stage show. Guess you will find out! Gig off a lifetime for them for sure.

Metallica became dead to me after Justice...and I was a huge Metallica fan up to that point.

It's tough to make angry music when you're more worried about adding to your fine art collection...

I am sure they will put on a great show! I saw them a few times back in the early 90's when I was in hightscool and it was one of the loudest concerts I have ever been to. Ears ringing for a few days after, good times:thumbsup:thumbsup

I was at Dave mustaine's studio when my son was recording there. There was a GOLD record buried in a stack of framed items. Ride the lightning. He never put it up.
Great guy, he spent two weekends, 14 hour days with my son and band, recording, hanging, talking about the biz, tweaking songs.
The highlight was watching him in the vocal booth with my son. They changed a few words in a song that my son wrote the lyrics to. After Dave listened to it the original way he suggested a more powerful word, he then sang it so my son could feel it.
It doesn't get any better as a kid, or a dad!

Those few weekends made me more a fan of older Metallica and a much bigger fan of megadeth.

There was a Flying V on the wall, sign on it said 'don't touch this'. I never asked him about it, but I'm guessing it was perfection hanging there.

I actually wanted to drive up (not a big fan of flying) but mom insisted I fly and she paid for the ticket, so I couldn't argue. [emoji2]

The Alicia Keys is free and at Super Bowl City. That starts at 8pm and we will already be at ATT Park. Mom says the city is packed, she is a volunteer for Super Bowl 50 welcome committe and has been working at Super Bowl City for the past couple days.

Lights are out going down Hillsdale until you get to Norfolk. We went to catch Caltrain at Hillsdale and waited until the train blew past us because it was full. Called Uber and now we are Northbound on the 101 getting dropped off at ATT Park.

Show was sick!! I literally stood for 2 hours while they played. The energy was just off the hook.....I have never seen so many people. Seeing the pits form down below on the field was a sight to see!

My mom is off volunteering at Super Bowl 50 and my flight doesn't leave until 2:30 so I went exploring and found Doctors Lounge, serving bottomless Bloodys and hangover hash. Surprisingly I am not hungover at all today.....guess I didn't drink enough...lol.

I watched the live stream. I certainly enjoyed it. Next best thing if you weren't there. [emoji106]

The energy was amazing. I wish they played a couple songs I was hoping for, but no big deal. The "Too Heavy For Halftime" deal was funny. I think they made more on that show than they would have gotten paid for halftime...lol. I have never seen so many people.
