just got off a confrence call to find out we are "realigning" as a company and my position will no longer exist as of today.

I have to say Im pretty pissed off right now because of the way things went down. But....I have needed to get away from this company for a long time now and this is exactly the push I needed.

Its been a while but now I must get my ass in gear and find a new job :(

Ho Mother-fucking Ho:grumble:

Sounds like more of a shove then a push.

I must say congradulations though. Your next step will be a much better opportunity. I think you were in a dead end job.

Now go start collecting your 99 weeks of unemployment

Im a project manager.

Just finished my EDD application. I have to say I know this is what I needed. I have been sitting at that end of the road for a while. but it was safe there. Time to make some moves now.

100% fucked up imo

Never give someone shitty news on a Friday if you can help it. Never.

And why wait until the week before Christmas? Is another week gonna break the bank? If so, then fuckem. :thumbsdown

Vic, I could go on for days. Back when this company was owned my my family things like this NEVER would have happened. The transformation that this place went through after it was sold was sickening.

Ironically on the confrence call I called it and asked if this was one of the Friday lay-off calls a week before Xmas....its was SOP with them. :thumbsdown

It sucks now but will only get better. Probably a good thing you were sticking it out with them. The last couple of years have sucked and hopefully the economy starts picking up now

We do merchandising for retail. For example Home Depot is our largest customer. I also did new store builds. I was involved mainly on the Merch side though.

If you've been needing to make a move anyway look at the positive. Take a few weeks off and enjoy the holidays. Get some things done that youve been wanting to do, and work on your resume. Get your mind right and start fresh looking for something after the first of the year. Good Luck.

Timing is piss poor but sounds to me like you will be much better off long term.

A total clean break.

Better things in store for you Bill. :thumbsup

Sounds to me like they are slowly killing your parents business. Hell, if there was not a "do not compete" in place maybe you should?

I can just imagine the pay on that deal. :D

A couple pack of smokes, some bud light lime, some schiada stickers, and some used road runner cups weekly...

A small furry dog (used) for incentive

Free monthly storage at Rio Vista....as long as give them props on the boards!

The best revenge was done 3 years ago when my mom sold the business to them for an ungodly ammount of money and 26 days later Depot cancelled our contracts ;) Mom laughed all the way to the bank and I stuck with the company collecting a check as long as I possibly could. I still feel I came out a winner on this one.

BTW...anyone one come down and take the co car out for a spin tonight with me. I still have it and a half tank of gas :D:D

Note RDP will never supply you with a company car.. Company Teryx optional, because it was built with electrical tape axles so it won't break. :D

You could always try truck driving.......

But on second thought, one missed bridge and the damage to the rear of the trailer wouldn't be a positve thing for your boss. :D:rotflmao:

Seriously, taking an action like that on an employee anytime during December is fucked up. Have fun in your co car tonight.

That sucks.... & an infraction to boot :skull. Can't blame companies for cutting back, but that's some shitty timing for sure. IMO doesn't matter how dedicated you are, there are not many secure jobs out there. I'm a PM also & have had one foot out the door @ my work for a while now, keeping my fingers in a few different pots so there's other things to fall back on. Hopefully I don't need it & I can just put that money towards a newer boat - we'll see.

Thanks ROC. I have had a foot out the door since they cut my pay 60% about a year ago. I kept the job for the co car and helth ins. I really do feel they did me a favor. The job hunt will be slow but I have had some time to get my finances arranged in a manner that I dont require much to survive ;)

This company was by far one of the worst I have ever worked for. They took an EXTREMELY profitable family business and turned it into a unprofitable division almost over night. On the flipside the check cleared so no loss on our end ;)

F-them. On to much better things...plus I have all the time in the world to water ski and snowboard now :thumbsup:thumbsup

RB I am taking my enclosed trailer down the road tomorrow to pick up a big rollaway box for a kid that is my son's best friend. He has been working at a Trans shop for over a year, everything going good, business is brisk and Christmas EVE he gets the boot, right when everyone is sharing a beer after work. The tell him nothing personal, just "trimming the workforce'
fockers. Christmas Eve?
Kid is 24, been to trade school and has about $80 a week going out to the tool trucks, and his truck is broke down.

You will land on your feet. You are just that kind of guy. hang in there.
