Good article. Would love to see someone step up from a motorcycle company to a company like Honda someone should take a shot. It's a huge market completely ignored.

Depends on the supercharger type. Roots or screw compressors are instant. There is no lag. A pro charger (belt driven turbo essentially) makes more boost the more RPM you make.

The Verado has a roots style supercharger.

The Verado has a Lysholm style supercharger. So does the 450R.

Made by IMI in Japan. Very good stuff.

🤣 An NA V8 will not out accelerate a supercharged 6 cylinder making 100 HP more. You know HP is derived from torque.. so the 6 has to make more torque to make more HP. The supercharger gives it a broader torque curve than the NA V8 can achieve.

It’s debatable if a v10 making the same HP will even make more midrange torque as the supercharged 6.

Of course Merc will tell you that it will.
On my 22, the 400 having no torque on the bottom end struggles to spin the prop to get RPM to get on a plane. On the other hand the stoker with a 3.2 opti max
would blow the prop and have so much bottom end , it would twist the boat to the side till it trimmed up

Been using the 5 blades on mine ( 22 Stoker) and it moves pretty well..(26 and 28s for skiing) and from what Im used to ( 300 V8 rude) its night and day in the mid range , 40 to 70. Super responsive and almost feels like a 20..

At least for me🙂
