Buy it and write it off, it’s only money. I’m sure your wife will love it, my moms E53 is a great car. However when she took it in for an oil change they did notice a turbo was making a noise it shouldn’t, they are currently replacing it but my mom is happy with how Mercedes handled it.

My comments are based on that model that was being considered.
Very cool vehicle, power, handling, and looks great.
I work at an MB dealership and see what they need.
If you know those things going in then you wont be surprised and you can enjoy the vehicle.

I realize this is a new model year for the GLE 53 AMG version. Would you mind sharing what kinds of issues this particular model is having (engine, trans, interior....)?-thanks

First will be a battery at 400-750 miles, back order, week or so to wait.
Tires at 10k or less
The rest is just the normal stuff you will see in any new car with a million features all controlled by a 100 small computers.
