I've had both hips replaced...Played golf within one month of the 1st one and took about two months for the 2nd one...Not to worry.
This is the kind of stuff I need to hear right now.My wife had her first hip replacement surgery about 6 years ago. Surgery at 8am and walked out at noon. We went hiking in Yosemite 4 weeks later.
I know ten people who have died from this surgery. But I’m sure you’ll be fine. This is the kind of stuff I need to hear right now.
please..................surly you jest....3 - 6 hoursI have a meniscus surgery coming, Doc keeps saying I'm gonna hate him. 3-6 months recovery he says.
I had meniscus surgery 2 years ago. It was a small tear. No PT. I was going up and down my stairs the same day. Probably not to smart but I played golf 4 weeks later.I have a meniscus surgery coming, Doc keeps saying I'm gonna hate him. 3-6 months recovery he says.
Well then there is the ones that get infected. Stitches ooze. Can’t put socks on for months. This is the kind of stuff I need to hear right now.
That happened to my step Dad. They actually had to go back in and take the hip out. He went 3 months without any hip. So I'm well aware what can go wrong.Well then there is the ones that get infected. Stitches ooze. Can’t put socks on for months.
But. At least those far and few.
Good luck. And hope all goes well.
I completely separated the inside of mine. He said he has to drill and re attach it. That has to set and heal. He doesn't want it to tear since he'll stretch it out again. I guess it shrunk. Can't be any more painful than when I snap it. Sounded like a branch breaking.I had meniscus surgery 2 years ago. It was a small tear. No PT. I was going up and down my stairs the same day. I hope you get mine was sarcasm. And wouldn’t wish that scenario on anybody. That happened to my step Dad. They actually had to go back in and take the hip out. He went 3 months without any hip. So I'm well aware what can go wrong.
How far apart were the surgeries? Or did they do them both at once? Because I need both done.Just did this 6 months ago.
Double hip replacement, Up and walking on them in the hospital same day. From walker, to cane, to walking on my own within the first week.
10-outa-10 would do again.
..
I was wondering if he was going to throw in a rubber pussy while he was at it .Is Hip replacement code for " Gender reassignment" ?
Hopefully you have a quick recovery and get back to be a Trophy house husband duties...
I've already been told I will not be going home the same day, and I'm good with that. The Doctor said it's usually out patient surgery but I'm considered a little bit of a high risk so he wants to keep me overnight. Not everyone walks out the same day, so don’t get discouraged if it doesn’t go that way.
Hip replacements rank like #2 in life improvement surgeries so it’ll be awesome even if it takes a while to recover.
Honestly, for the first 2-3 weeks afterwards I questioned my decision to do it. I questioned my surgeon choice, and his procedure.I've already been told I will not be going home the same day, and I'm good with that. The Doctor said it's usually out patient surgery but I'm considered a little bit of a high risk so he wants to keep me overnight.
Like you said, I'm hoping this improves my quality of life dramatically, but I try not to get too overly optimistic at this point.
My cousin had a full knee replacement done about 4 weeks ago in Flagstaff. Doc said she was a prime candidate for it. Left with a walker after a few hours. She is in PT 3 days a week and still a little pain.My full knee replacement is supposed to be an out patient surgery. Blows my mind to be honest but doc is confident I'll be hobbling out with sticks or most likely a walker.
How far apart were the surgeries? Or did they do them both at once? Because I need both done.
Good to hear. My doctor is also going through the front. womp wompDid them both at the same time. Surgeon was at USC, he knew I needed both and I didn’t see a reason to go through the process twice.
I’ll admit, the third day I was so swollen and immobilized trying to leave the hospital I really thought I’d made a mistake doing them both.
Looking back that was a 36hr concern. I live alone, but once I knew how to get myself out of bed on my own I was more or less home free.
My mom stayed with me the first few nights just to ensure food was made and I wasn’t falling down in the shower.
Also, I specifically found a Dr who could do them from the front, rather than the rear (everyone go ahead and insert your Grads joke here) I’m mid 40’s and didn’t want any ongoing restrictions in movement based on the surgical method.
X2How did the surgery go?
Considering my brother was one of my nurses, No.Did you get your free happy ending while you were sedated?
I’m good! Feeling and walking much better than before the surgery this morning.
I think it does.Does this mean we get to go back to hot bitches and paddle boarding?
Just saw we thought, nothing there
