I just watched a couple of D- Senators, bitching that there is work to do and no time to Waste on B.S. Like this- You know like the 4-Years of President's Term

Yesterday McCarthy said, Bring it on, go ahead and try to oust me.

Today he caved to Gaetz

How a speaker of the House can be ousted with a 'motion to vacate'

Speaker Kevin McCarthy made concessions to the far right to get his job, including changing the rules to allow any member of Congress to force a vote to remove him.

Rep. Matt Gaetz, R-Fla., has been hinting at replacing McCarthy, and when Rep. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif., accused him of making empty threats, Gaetz responded, "Bookmark this tweet."

"Hi, Eric. If I make a motion to remove Kevin, how [many] Democrat votes can I count on? Asking for a friend," Gaetz said in response to a post from Swalwell.

"Are all Democrats so willing, [Swalwell]?" Gaetz also said. "Will my NorCal twitter troll have the courage and efficacy to become my dem whip?? If I'll work with [Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez] to ban congressional stock trading I'll absolutely work with [Swalwell] to rid the House of ineffective leadership. How many votes can you deliver against a Motion to Table a Motion to Vacate, Eric? Asking for (many) friends!"

Under rules passed earlier this year, it will take only a single House member to call for a motion to vacate the speaker's seat, but it's not clear if any Democrats would join with Gaetz in his efforts. Further, with the slim GOP majority in the House, it's not clear that there would be enough votes to remove McCarthy.

McCarthy told reporters he's "not at all" worried that he could lose his gavel. Asked about Gaetz, McCarthy said, "Matt is Matt."

McCarthy Announces He Has Greenlit A Probe To Examine The Possibility Of Investigating Preliminary Meetings Into Whether Or Not They Should Begin To Consider The Future Likelihood Of Hypothetical Impeachment Hearings Sometime Later Down The Road
POLITICS·Sep 12, 2023 · BabylonBee.com

WASHINGTON, D.C. — In what might be a stunning possibility of a development, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy finally announced he has greenlit a probe to determine whether or not there may be, at some point, the potential to investigate the possibility of considering having hypothetical meetings to maybe discuss having further discussions about perhaps thinking about launching impeachment proceedings against an alleged individual who may or may not be President Joe Biden at an undetermined date at some point in the future.
"I can confirm that it is a solid possibility," McCarthy said when making the announcement. "There is absolutely no doubt in my mind that we might do it. I am, without any hesitation, firmly committed to potentially following through with this. There is definitely a strong desire to maybe launch an impeachment probe to investigate the initial idea of doing something. Absolutely maybe."
The outcry from the American people and prominent conservative political pundits has only grown louder over the last several months as new allegations regarding President Biden's corruption have been brought to light. In response, McCarthy stressed the need for caution. "We simply cannot rush into this type of investigation without evidence," he said. "If we were to be presented with a seventh or eighth mountain of clear evidence, it may persuade us to tentatively schedule preliminary meetings to talk about a non-specific framework of a hypothetical probe."
At publishing time, rumors from Capitol Hill sources indicated McCarthy would be ready to move forward with impeachment proceedings as soon as he came up with the best way to obstruct it.

Marching Orders: White House Letter Tells Media To “Ramp Up Their Scrutiny” In Response to Impeachment Inquiry

First, as I have previously noted, the White House is now actively involved in pushing narratives and denying factual allegations linked to the Biden corruption scandal. That could create Nixonian-type allegations of the abuse of office in the use of federal employees to counter impeachment efforts.

Second, the letter was drafted by Ian Sams, a spokesperson for the White House Counsel’s Office. So White House lawyers are now enlisting the media in a counter media campaign against impeachment? The letter removes any pretense of separation between the Biden personal legal team and the White House Counsel’s office. Sams has been the most aggressive White House official in actively swatting down allegations of corruption as well as the President’s documents investigation.

Third, the letter calls for the media to actively support the White House account. The draft of the letter is a call for what I have previously criticized as “advocacy journalism” where reporters frame stories to advance their own viewpoints or values.
