When I was a kid we never had mayo, it was either ketchup, mustard or Miracle Whip. Later in life I discovered Best Foods (Hellman's) and it's been my go to for sandwiches. In the past few years I heard about Duke's Mayo form the eastern part of the country. I tried it today and think I'll stick with Best Foods (Hellman's) Which is you choice??

My wife's choice would be to shove the entire bottle up my ass every time she watches me glob the Best Mayo on my sandwiches 🤣
If she's watching I'll add even more and make a big production out of spreading it --- as she Urps and Gags 🤮
She won't eat mayo for anything and will flat jump over the counter and attack the ass-clown who doesn't "Hold The Mayo" as she requested. 👿

You need to add an "Anything but Miracle Whip" choice, that stuff is f'n disgusting.
Always had Best Foods growing up. I was about 10 and there was a bottle of miracle whip in the fridge. Used it to make a sandwich. First bite, spit it out and threw away the sandwich. miracle whip is the devil!
We grabbed a small bottle of Safeway brand and it was the same as Best Foods and cheaper. 👍🏻

Mayo guy here. I never knew about Miracle Whip until my grandmother made me a sandwich one time with MW. I thought the meat on the sandwich had gone bad, it was that awful.

Best foods is really all I’ve had. Can’t imagine hellmans is any different.

I don’t mind mustard if the sandwich calls for it though.

MW, I think I’d rather lick a steak knife.

Have any of you tried to make your own at home? Its oil and egg whites as a base, then you can add all kinds of stuff to it to spice it up.....

Miracle Whip has to be the most disgusting thing on the planet!!!

Miracle Whip is made from water, soybean oil, high-fructose corn syrup, vinegar, modified corn starch, eggs, salt, natural flavor, mustard flour, potassium sorbate, spice, and dried garlic.[7] The original Miracle Whip is produced using less oil compared to traditional mayonnaise, thus has around half of the calories. Due to added corn syrup it is also sweeter compared to mayonnaise.[8]

I think a lot of people grew up using Miracle Whip because it was cheap. When I got out on my own, I found a way to afford Best Foods. I like catsup, mustard and relish, but on a sandwich or burger I also want Mayo.

Grew up on MW, all I knew till I got older. Moved to the East Coast and discovered Hellmans and switched to that, kind of funny but you would see Best Foods and Hellmans side by side so they were banking on brand loyaltys I guess.
Anyone else's Wife or Kids put the fucking container in the door the opposite way that it dispenses?....I make a point of smashing that side on the counter when I use it, Wife is like WTF Dude, I'm like which end does it come out of?

Hellman's for the win!
My wife has me hooked on their Avocado oil blend as it has 30% less fat/calories.

I saw a show on the History Channel about food and they mentioned MW was produced during the depression as a cheaper alternative to Mayo which was more expensive due to the ingredients. It was supposed to be similar but I don’t know how they tested that, it’s not similar to me.

So a whole generation got raised on MW so it seems that got handed down. Me I would have switched back to Mayo as soon as possible.

YES! Especially when it’s about 1/4 full.
It doesn’t seem like a big deal, but it makes absolutely no sense. 😂

Speaking of Mayo, anyone try the flavors they have going now. Made with olive oil? Etc.

They don’t sell sample sizes so I’m not buying a big jar just to hate it and toss it.

Only Best Foods Mayo! It's Hellmans on the eastern side of the states. I love to drown my sandwiches/burgers/hotdogs in condiments though, YMMV haha! 😆

If it's not dripping, it's not enough! 🤘🤗

Miracle Whip is fucking AWESOME! Love that shit, but only on the "Dirty White Trash Bologna W/American and Iceberg Lettuce Sammy"! 🤣😆

It's ok on the runner up Buddig thin sliced trash turkey pieces meat with the same american and iceberg....

Nothing like fresh roasted homemade turkey though like TG leftovers to make sandwiches out of, simply the best! I used to go to a deli that roasted a bird everyday....I ate there a lot!

Side note, maybe posted above, Mayo is basically eggs and oil. We were out at Powell a couple weeks ago and didn't have any vegetable oil so we added a 1/4 cup of Best Foods to the brownie batter, turned out great!

I HATE Mayo. Any brand or type. I used to have a VERY thin layer on my sandwiches just for the moisture content, now I realized the sandwich is SOOO much better with some good olive oil on it instead. Specially some good garlic olive oil.

I grew up with "mayonnaise cake" when my wife went to make it the first time from my moms recipe she about puked because she hates mayo. She was pleasantly surprised when it was done. Super moist and tastes amazing. Now that is the only way she will make chocolate cake!

I grew up with "salad dressing" we couldn't afford mirical whip nor mayo!

Liked it as a kid and hated it as an adult until recently it has grown on me a bit.

I dont mind the taste so much anymore, its the smell. I cant stand after you eat a sandwich and can still smell it on your hands. YUK

Makes good garlic bread also. Maybe a little parmesan on it as well.

Ha! I grew up on that stuff. My parents were health nuts. Somehow it’s better on the basis of the oil and vitamin e? I doubt it but whatever.
I haven’t seen that in awhile. I figure it’s in some specialty store like Trader Joe’s.

i just like the flavor, lol🤷‍♂️

Oh it is. Specially if used with a good hearty bread like a sourdough or such. Roast beef and turkey with some good Swiss, sliced onions, and some crisp lettuce..... that's MY ideas of a sammie!!

Best Foods only.
Growing up in HI and CA we consume a lot of mayo.

Mayo on burgers, hotdogs, sandwich's. Ever try mayo on rice? Mmmm, but not that cheap rice--im talkin sticky white Botan rice.
Dip artichokes in mayo! We also use it to make sauce. 2 big spoonful of mayo and mix in Shoyu till light brown--dip you veggies like broccoli, asparagus, cauliflower etc. .
Make spicy mayo with Franks Red Hot and Cholula mixed in for chicken sandwich's.
When grilling hamburger/hotdog buns--spread a thin amount and grill till brown.
Make hawaiian style mac salad with extra mayo. ..
Stew or chili night?--get some good sourdough bread with just mayo on it to eat on the side.

When we lived in IL for a few years--my wife let me know Hellman's was the same as BF cause she knew it would be a problem for me.
We stock up with mayo just a much as we stock TP in this house.

Yes both olive oil and avocado oil are good and 30% less fat/calories than regular Mayo.

Grew up on a catering truck and my mom wouldn't even try to save a dime slinging the nasty shit or the whip to customers so it was always best foods mayo for us! Every weekend we always ate my favorite as a kid, crispy bacon sandwich with best food mayo on a piece of soft white bread.
