family friends have a place in Minn.
Most lakes are unusable until late June. April-May rain after lakes are unfrozen, causes high water and a shit ton of debris in the lake.

My dad has a place on the Chain of Lakes in IL. Too often the entire system is wakeless due to high water levels until late June.

My buddy’s boat dock got destroyed the other day in one of those MN storms.
It looked like a G23 did 2 wake surf passes on it.

The water is crazy high this year, but normally the boats go in the water when the docks go in, which is right around this time of year. At least on the lake where the family cabin is located in MN. Water doesn't get warm enough to play in until June, but the fishing is great.

Water is so high this year they can't get the docks installed right now.

They have winter…
Yep.
About 9.75 month per year
No drought there!

I know a gal that lives in Hibbing.
The pile of snow that builds up all winter from plowing the driveway still hasn’t melted.

How warm do you suppose their lakes are? 🤔

And, she has a fire wood shed literally as large as my house. Seriously.

I grew up there and left over 30 years ago. Nice place to visit in the summer. I promised myself I would never move back.

Damn Minnesota and the Vikings

Will they win a Super Bowl in my life time?
They got about 25 years to do it.
That’s all I got for Minnesota .
Oh ya they do have the worlds biggest candy store . A tent in the middle of nothing . . Lol

I actually went for my 50 th for a Viking game it was beautiful in October.

When I was a college student and new music devotee, there was nothing more magical than traipsing through blowing, falling snow at night with a wind chill of below zero to see a rock show. The empty streets sparkled with fresh snow; its whiteness brightened the dark night to almost daylight hues. Tromping into a steamy club in heavy boots, pink boots, and icicles hanging from our hair was an exhilarating feat. The reward for this Nordic trek was not only live music, camaraderie, and lots of beer, it was also the deep pleasure and comfort of being in an overheated building with all the other hardy souls in the know who braved the elements to gather in this room to anticipate something extraordinary about to happen.

Duluth. where the main attraction is watching the big freighters come into port and making those tight turns past the concrete canal. the bow wave is pretty big...

It's one of my wife's favorites too...

I made it through about 20min. Couldn't take anymore! 😝
My face is in a contortion of horror after reading your post. 😀 As Jerry Lundergaard said “ what the Christ!”
