I just noticed the Whipple:yikes Ouch, thats crazy.
If it was me, I would take off the whipple. Sell that on the side. Get it back to stock.
Anyone that knows anything about Performance Boats knows its a time bomb. (Unless you built up the bottom end, then its a nice motor ready for fun:thumbsup)
Oh and take out the picture of the guys wrenching on the motor, turns people away sometimes.
The guy's at Eliminator might even throw in a T Shirt with no holes in it...I personally don't think the location thing is a big issue. You can still market it in Havasu, SoCal or NorCal and keep the boat at your house. If someone wants it bad enough they will make the drive. I drove to SoCal four times to look at boats and when I sold my Shockwave the guy that bought it drove down from Portland.
Have you thought about scraping the Cobra stickers off the side and replacing them with some brand new Eliminator ones?
Dick!!!
Wow, I took my eyes off the thread for a bit and it blew up! ok here are all the answers to questions:
On the storage issue, I'm not going to pay to store it. End of story. Nothing further to discuss there.
On the price: I have offered every texting tire kicker 10% off as I figured that's what I would pay to a broker.
Cheers!
I'm not speaking for Maxed out Marine here, but I have heard Ricky put together a bunch of deals when I had an office there. I believe their commission rate varies. They have a lower commission rate if the owner stores the boat, and a higher commission rate if they store the boat. I'm not sure if that has changed or not since I left there.
Ultimately though, someone is going to end up paying to store the boat, and no matter how you slice it, in the end that would be you. Whether it be a higher commission rate, storage fees, a lesser selling price, etc.. It all balances out in the end no matter who you use.

There was a question about eliminators consignment agreement: I wont get into it on a public forum, they didn't write the agreement its just what they use. If anyone wants to discuss in private I can highlight the lines I had issues with. Nothing against them, but as someone who manages risk for a living I saw too large a liability gap to take the risk.
We use the form as designated by the California Yacht Brokers Association. As licensed agents within California (the ONLY state with such a requirement) we are aligned with their Policies and Procedures.
Liability Gap ? Risk ? :yikes
Additionally, Lenders in the Marketplace are pretty much aligned with NADAGuides. Maybe you should run your boat through there and see what it really worth...
Pretty sure it's worth whatever someone will pay [emoji2]
And that number is going to start with a 3

Shoppers come equipped with data and do their homework...you can ask anything you want, but data is data.
Somehow a 12yr old Cobra just does not give off that "gotta have it" glow when you see it...
Hey, you never know...good like with the sale !!

Having a little knowledge in this area and not wanting to say you are wrong but you are. Liberal CA is not the only state that licenses it's brokers: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yacht_broker And no matter what NADA or KBB says a boat is worth what a willing buyer is willing to pay for it. "The books" come into play when financing is involved because of the banks or weak broker doesn't want to really justify the "TRUE" value of the boat. There are no 2 like boats like the books try to say that all are alike. Eliminator does build a "custom" boat... Right???...
According to your link. Shue was off by 1 state. Florida. And their laws seem different then CA.Having a little knowledge in this area and not wanting to say you are wrong but you are. Yep. Florida was the 1st state to require their brokers to be Licensed and Bonded. Ca copied FL. Most of the Certification of Brokers was developed out of Fl and the Northeast with the Yacht Brokers Association of America.. But read carefully, he did say "ONLY" in caps. And it's not like grenades and horseshoes....closeness does not count. lolAccording to your link. Shue was off by 1 state. Florida. And their laws seem different then CA.
Man, you're making a killer argument for consigning with Eliminator. All this is totally unnecessary.
Well, if you really wanted to sell it then you would find time.Yep, I get all that and was pleased with their rates and processes. Havasu is a 6.5 hour trip for me 1 way and adding one more hassle of finding a place to keep the boat and then making sure it is secure is just one more hassle I don't have time for. best of luck to them in all their endeavors.
Anyone here looking for a 25' Nordic without a whipple?
I'll pay for storage in my garage until it's picked up.
Thanks[emoji3]
Are you thinking about listing your boat with Maxed Out Marine? What are you thinking about getting next?
If true he might consider working with a DCB dealer like Preston @ Horizon to work the "Trade-In" credit angle. He looking at a M 31
What have you heard

So was your glaring liability holes comment when speaking of Eliminator.
Whipped 496 is like an olds in a jet boat. Head ache city.
No where in any post has the OP been malicious. The OP posted that he wanted other options. He's not in a hurry and doesn't want to pay for storage on any level. He is a risk management guy by profession and stated that eliminator uses a generic form for the consignment. After reading the form while in his risk assessment mode he found it to be not good for HIM based on his training on risk. He came here and said MO was a bit to busy for him and was uncomfortable with the generic eliminator form. A few have jumped his shit for no reason. Everything is FACT so far. Eliminator generic form..... FACT. Maxed out to busy/full to store boat.... FACT. not sure the big deal here. Can we just give him options without reading defensively? Wait its the internet..... duh!
