Last week I replaced my two X3’s with Maverick R’s

I had never driven an R until the day I went to pick these cars up.

The power is very impressive.
The DCT is great. Manual is fun but auto works very well.
The steering is next level, nothing I have ever driven off road compares to it.

I have a list of things I’m going to add to these cars for the multi purposes of crawling, hard pack, and possibly sand.

CT Raceworx lower arms
Cage and aluminum roofs
35’s On 15 inch wheels
Winch
Skid plates
Rock Sliders
Intercoms
Aux Lights
Spare tire rack
Front and rear bumpers
High Clearance radius rods
Turn signals
Mirrors
Bigger batteries
Heated seats
Firminator

Old X3’s

I asked in the speed thread, but that topic is lame. Lol
Where did you buy these? 2024s but the looks of the knuckles.
What are the difference in 24 to 25, I heard transmission?
Thanks

I live in Missouri. They came from a dealer local to me but I don’t believe they have anymore 24’s however I found several other dealers with the same deal within driving distance.
On the 2 seat I don’t think there is any difference except the color on the front arms.
Someone on the Maverick forum mentioned a few more sensors in the transmission but I don’t know that for sure.
The 4 seat has a lower geared low side in the transmission.

The max has a lower gear ratio to be able to haul / move more weight - 4 seat vrs 2 seat

I believe - The 2 seat are the same - just all black frt end arms - try to dull down / blend in the arm connections

Winding roads at almost 100mph???

Fucking E ticket ride!!! 👍🏼💪💯

The car will jump from 40 mph to 99 incredibly fast. The transmission works very well, the smart shocks are great. Even the brakes are very good.

This car is a totally different ride from any of the other SxS’s I have driven. The power, transmission, slightly longer wheelbase and track width really changes the car from others like a Volkswagen based dune buggy to an actual purpose built sand car, or a XR 250 4 stroke to a custom suspension CR250 2 stroke.

Best performance per dollar today IMO.

I think this edges out a Pro R fairly easy.

Cruising down the road with a direct drive car is much more pleasurable than a wound up rubber band car.

The steering is better than any else period. No bump steer at all.

I would encourage anyone to put more than just a few minutes on one before making a call on it.

You’re not the only person that has said that!

I DONT want to drive one or go for a ride….

There are two brothers that camp with our group in glamis. Both had older Rzr's and recently upgraded to a Pro R and the other brother went with the Maverick R. The brother with the Canned Ham can't believe the difference from his old ride and is stoked on the purchase. The brother with the new Pro R says he's happy with his decision because the belt is "more reliable" and the Canned Ham transmission is "unproven" as far as he's concerned 🙄
Needless to say we pull over alot to wait for the brother in the Pro R 😏

What would happen if the brothers switched cars?

I have Never been a fan of the rubber band cars. No way I'd ever own one.

I've had my eye on the Talon for a Long time now, hoping the factory would improve it.

Won't be much longer till the Mav R's come on the market used. I'm in no hurry. 😎

Neither one of them are what I would consider "fast duners" but the brother with the Canned Ham definitely has more confidence in his new ride so he tends to be ahead of his brother more than he used to be if that means anything.
I have personally owned two belt driven SxS's and I don't care for them

You're a mechanic, you can probably change a belt quicker than 99% of the people.

Funny thing is the P-Drive in the Can Am’s X3’s (22 and newer) is magnificent. I never replaced a belt in 6000 or so combined miles.

The DCT completely changes every aspect of the driving experience however.

Yeah, but why? 😂

They are fine for snowmobiling. And I understand how they make life easy on drivetrain components.

But is there Anything more annoying than the drone of a rubber band car?

Technology will make them obsolete shorty. And people will be saying...

Why did those Ever exist? 🤷‍♂️

Sales is the only answer.

I couldn't agree more. When I'm in glamis and hear some random SxS goin by the drone is equally annoying whether it's doin 25 or 75. Even worse when they have an obnoxiously loud exhaust (that probably robs HP)
Maybe I'm just a cranky old fuck but I liked it better before jet ski's and SxS's
