So whats the formula for the mortor for cinder block walls? I know its something like one scoup of this and two scoups of that. Going to do some home block wall repair and I dont know how to mix the mud. Thanks

18 square point shovels full of mortar sand for each bag of mortar in a mortar mixer. In a wheel barrow, 8 full square point shovels full for each 1/2 bag chopped in a wheel barrow.

Buy the ready mix bags at Home Depot or Lowes. Just add water, mix completely, and go to work. Save the empty bags and put the debris in them when you clean up.

I had a guy that worked for me who went into business himself doing small jobs, fences, fireplaces, additions, etc. He hand painted on the side of his truck "(His Name) Masonary" and we still get a kick out of it three+ decades later.

Yes, it's Masonry! with one A and I still prefer to mix my own as the home depot premix has too much sand in it and the end product sucks when compared to what I can chop in a wheelbarrow in two minutes.

ya thats the best way but the cats crap in the sand around here and its a pain in the ass so i get the pre mix :cool
