I wear them if I go out now only because I look like an asshole if I don't, plus my wife insists, but I think they're fucking ridiculous. If you don't ever touch your face, you will not transmit the virus into your body, just wash your hands a lot & wear gloves, yet with masks I touch my face 100 times more.

I hope this mask thing goes out of vogue quickly. I feel like I'm at a ski resort constantly having to put on & take off shit at all times.

I'm no expert, but I'd give the masks a slight plus. For me though I'd ditch the gloves, seem like a collection point that are hard to disinfect during travel. Spray or lotion sanitizers before and after leaving a store and getting back in my vehicle.

So this guy I know went into a restaurant to place a to go order, and he had the mask and gloves on, and a nine mil on his hip inside the waistband style. He felt like a gangster. Or so he said.

no mask, no gloves... but I've always made a point to not be all up around people anyway. I've always kept my hands clean best I could, but last few weeks I've used more hand sanitizer than I think I have my whole adult life, lol

Nope, not when I'm off work and enjoying my limited freedoms in SoCal. We are required to wear them while working and dealing with members of the public, but that's the ONLY time I wear anything. I wash my hands as frequently as possible and as stated, try not to touch my face and limit contact with other folks.

I’m not wearing one, but if I am required at some point I picked this up yesterday. If I’m doing it I’m going all in.

since I already had some N-95's I wear them when grocery shopping, but not when dog walking. The one's I have are a little hard to breathe thru.

No mask, no gloves, I totally ignore any social “distancing”...at Walmart I make sure to handle every piece of produce, going so far as to hold it right to my nose. I’ll bet I checked at least 6 different racks of ribs before picking one out.
I see others wadded up in makeshift masks and literally wearing plastic bags as gloves and I can only shake my head at their level of cross contamination.
I watched some joker with disposable plastic gloves fuck with his mask at the check out, then handle all his groceries, then pull his wallet out, handle his card, THEN take a glove off and enter his pin on the keypad bare handed, then fuck with us mask again, well...you get the picture.

And through it all, the baffling laser focus on toilet paper continues...

Funny how they decide 3 weeks after locking everything down that we suddenly need to wear masks. If this was so important shouldn’t have this come out earlier ?

We had a training at work and this showed us the importance of wearing a mask..

Makes sense. I think cooks & food preparers, like sandwich shops, should always wear the, period, not just during this coronavirus thing.

This is where the US society fails miserably. Our vanity trumps all.

I've been wearing one, it fogs my glasses and make my nose itch, but whatever. This will be the new normal for the foreseeable future. The upshot is it might actually help with influenza season.

And the mask is to keep me from infecting someone else, not vise versa.

Fogging of the glasses is a problem. Also , like I said, I touch my face 100 times more than I would otherwise which is the main way this is transmitted. I learned years ago not to touch my face all the time due to germs.

Anywho, this all seems to be the way things will be from now on. I say keep your distance, cover your mouth when coughing or sneezing, etc. and we wouldn't need to worry...

LOL
We have those for Snorkeling and I told my wife, All we need to do is put a sock over the Snorkel and it now becomes re-useable and washable. Im still trying to figure out how I can get a tube from a Camebak into it. Once I do I will be able to drink beer while I wear it in or out of the water. LOL

It's not vanity. It's a pain in the ass as I've described & actually is rather ridiculous, but....

How is it a pain? Is it strapped on too tight?
How is it ridiculous? Explain your adjective.
Everyone made fun of these folks....but now they are back at living life, going to work, stores, etc.

.
Because it's not normal for us Americans it's "fill in the blank" excuse.

I agree, but if you’re going to do it to lessen the risk why not eliminate the risk? My mask is only a half hearted joke. If this thing is serious enough to completely decimate the economy and people’s livelihood the why not wear a mask that eliminates the chance of getting the virus? I say if you’re wearing just a regular mask you are part of the problem.

Do welding masks count?
Don't wear a mask out, but also not out much. Really, not much has changed there.

If you have a glass fogging issue though, wipe the lenses down with Pledge, or any light wax. It helps quite a bit. When swimming on cold mornings I used to do the inside of my goggles(Long sets, no time to lick them). When I got older, learned it worked on riding goggles and inside my welding mask too.

I am not wearing a mask.

Come try and make me.

I don't associate with elders or high risk people, I would wear one in that situation.

Otherwise stay the fuck away from me, and I'll do the same.

Some cunt tried to say some shit to me at Ralphs the other day, wearing a fucking sock....by the time I got through with her stupid ass, half the store was laughing.

95% of the people I see wearing masks are not N95 or anything but a feel good to be a sheep assrag across their cockholster.

This whole thing continues to enforce my disbelief that any of these dipshits would survive any sort of real crisis.

It's a pretty pathetic thing to see, after growing up in the land of the free and the home of the brave.

I had to drive to carson yesterday, almost every person there outside or in a car had a mask on. Today took a drive down PCH to get out, no masks in HB, people sitting on beach in crowds, people sitting on main street right next to each other eating just another day minus the 50 cars are so getting parking tickets.

Carson Sherrifs are already ticketing. Neighbor that works for PD just told me they will pull you over driving and ticket even if you are driving solo.

They have been targeting job sites already with $1000 fines. Must wear mask , eye protection and gloves or be cited. Manhattan Beach arrested everyone on site at several construction sites.

I just had tires put on my truck and my tire guy employee has a hook up. Going back Monday for a box of 50. I am down to about 30 N95s. Had about 60 3 weeks ago but everyone on my sites has to have 1.

Pretty simple, if you are infected and know it, you shouldn't be out and about anyway. But WTF, if you are, then wear a mask. If you are asymptomatic, infected/contagious without symptoms and perhaps not yet tested just put on a friggin' mask and stop spreading the damned virus unknowingly. If you are presently clear of any virus, then why not at least try to protect yourself? In conclusion, when out in public, wear a GD mask. What can it hurt, besides your own personal vanity?

It is rather interesting going to the liquor store and you and everyone else look like you’re about to rob the place. Me today heading out. Riverside County = mandatory.

OK, you're right on that. If I were a QuickyMart clerk I'd be dressed in full body armor...wouldn't even holster, always in hand...not worth the 12$ an hour.
