While I don’t think people should be going around flipping off cops.. it is pretty mind blowing that a cop can’t see past his own ego to understand that the guy is well within his rights to do so.

I feel like more and more cops just arrest people or threaten to arrest people because there is little to no consequences for doing so.

The number of videos of cops not capable of self control in those situations are almost unfathomable. I get that they deal with jackholes daily and plenty of videos are incomplete of details....but still, protocols are protocols.

All the good cops have now retired, and now they are dealing with an entire new breed of air sucking, butt hurt mama's boys and girls, who demand weekends off facial hair, man buns, and exposed big tittie tattoos. Why be a cop when you make more money cooking fries for Micky D's?

Dumb ass department supervisors failed to stop the troopers foolishness, they need some serious training too. The first amendment gives us a lot of latitude to express ourselves in this country. Except for Trump.

Ill say that accountability is a huge issue lately. I deal with department complaints daily and its not a lack of training, its supervisors keeping staff accountable. Unfortunately, strong work ethics are not common and, while no one wants it, some babysitting is needed IMO

I don't get why anyone would flip off a cop, guess I've been arrested enough to learn that it's just better to give them wide berth and let them do their job. I don't envy LEO for having to deal with the "entitled" generation!

And I’m thinking just the opposite. They don’t want to arrest them and I dont blame them.
I mean hell they haven’t even finished their report and said asshole is already out causing more shit.
What’s the point.

As long as you are hiring human beings to be cops, you will have some problems. For better or worse, the worst case scenario issues involving cops are what make social media headlines. Not a single profession is immune from the imperfect human element.

The fact of the matter is that cops are paid to put up with buttholes like the one in the article. If you can't do that on a daily basis, don't apply for the job.

I have Great respect for LEO but there may be a few told they are Number 1 from time to time and I'd think they have much greater problems to deal with than taking time to make an arrest . They need to know that much of the dis respect they may encounter is due their leaders dissing them publically ............... Refund the Police !

The cop let that little bitch faced plaintiff get his goat. Cops need to be really thick skinned, that’s always been the case.

Funny... I might have told this story before but it's fitting, so I'll tell it again. Last idiot I dealt with doing this shit was a regular community asshole. I'm minding my own business a red light. Windows down as they should be. He starts screaming from the sidewalk "My first amendment says Fuck You!" while waving the middle finger and dancing around. He takes a moment to breath. I tell him... "I'm not impressed. I bet you can't even spell it." He gets all roostered up and in his best big boy voice screams out F U C K Y O U... I just laugh, and told him "No, it is spelled I T."

Fact of the matter is the loud ones are generally the first one to start screaming for ma'ma when shit gets real.

Ehh....not to sure about that....there used to be a thing called a SAP...billyjack...streamlight.....societal standards have changed and now police are on the other side of the pendulum, and have traded places with the criminals. He would never have flipped off a 60s, 70s, 80s era cop. Period.

Hey @FlyByWire 🖕🏻

Where do I collect my check?

Haha

Some of the best arrests I’ve ever had started with someone begging for my attention when I wouldn’t have looked at them twice… 🤷🏻‍♂️

Flip me off all you want. Just make sure you’re in full compliance of the CVC as you do it 🤓.

Getting flipped off was a near-daily occurrence in LA. I got to the point I’d just flip them off back. 🤷🏻‍♂️

We had a guy that would make threats against our substation all the time. He would leave letters at the front counter along with verbal threats to civilian staff. We actually obtained a restraining order against him that stated he was not allowed to harass any persons working out of our substation. One of our deputies was driving down the street and this douche flips him off. He was arrested for violating a restraining order and booked into jail. The judge actually gave him some jail time. This was back in the 90's though. Would probably not happen in today's climate.

For every bad video there is 26,311 interactions that go without incident or drama, but nobody ever posts those. Don’t be a dumb fuck, drive a reasonable amount over the limit, and live your life without consequences. Just like the alphabet people, the percentage of these types interactions is nearly immeasurable.
