I have a Gekko which is probably the lowest freeboard direct drive ski boat ever made. It a challenge to keep it dry especially afternoons on the strip. You will get wet. My simple solution, a snap on canvas bow cover. Any water rolls right off. Now I've had rollers come over the bow, up the windshield and drench us but the bow stayed bone dry, lol

I had possession of a Malibu Echelon open bow one summer. The boat didn't have much freeboard. I used the boat a lot, but I never let the kids sit in the open bow when under way. It was great when anchored or beached, but no riding.

If . . . . Laws are put on the books about open bow boats, you can be pretty sure it will NOT be done with knowledge and common sense. Most likely, it would be one broad sweep covering any and all boats with ooen bows. That will make it easy to enforce.

Dear lord…… this applies to a group of boats that many of which haven’t been produced in 15-20 years, and the later models were nowhere near flagship or top selling model. Nobody is going to be passing laws over an archaic vessel from a company who is no longer in business.
