I finally pulled the trigger on upgrading my 2005 Magic 28ft Deck Boat. After seeing all the new boats with the kick ass interiors over the last couple of seasons at the river I was thinking of buying a new boat. My only hesitation was that I really like my boat... my Magic has plenty of room not to mention all the cool trips & memories we have had on this boat over the past 14 years. Oh and the best part it's paid off :) So I made the decision to move forward. There were a couple of things on the boat that always bothered me. (1) Nowhere to store my personal items like keys, cell phone etc. at the helm. (2) Weather stripping always coming off the edges of the cubbys & ski lockers (3) Lighting in the boat & navigation lights sucked (4) The interior of the boat was always boring to me. Those were the main things. The hard part was finding the right shop to do the work. I had my favorite interiors pics that I would refer to when shopping the upholstery project when it occurred to me to just call the shop that did the upholstery in the pics. That would be DCB Performance Boats . I wasn't sure if they would take on the project... But I hit them up anyway. It was the best choice for me. Once I reviewed the project with Carlos things just fell in place. The DCB Team was amazing to work with. The communication with Carlos & Eric was outstanding. The final product is spectacular. I was blown away with the transformation. The build was more than just Upholstery. The Captain/ Co-Pilot Seats were rebuilt along with the back bench seat. Head rest were added to the seats, side panels were rebuilt/ enlarged. Interior used was mostly Marine Vinyl with a touch of Alcantara. We didn't stop there. Lighting was upgraded throughout the boat to New LED Rigid Courtesy Lights, Lighted Cup Holders, and Accent Lighting. Exterior Navigation were upgraded to LED Cat Eyes & Whip ... These lights are much brighter than the original lighting from 2005. The next step was the carpet. I wanted to the carpet to flow with the seat upholstery. With adding Diamond Stitching & color striping along with SeaDek at key positions throughout the boat we were able to achieve a nice blend of colors throughout. This has been a fun project and cant wait for the season to start and get back on the water. Just wanted to share this with anyone who is interested in doing a build like this. Some shout outs and additional info. Great job to Teague Custom Marine 825 Whipple Supercharged Motor, Max Machine Workx SCX Upper with SC Lower, Imco Full Hydraulic Steering, Livosi Gauges, Speed Of Sound Lake Havasu for the Kick Ass Sound System, Rockford Fostgate Equipment, Daley Visual Ceramic Coating, Issota Aria Steering Wheel. If I am forgetting anything send me a message I will try to answer it. Check out the pics. Let me know what you think.

That’s a great look. Really turned out nice. Bet that was a pretty penny. What did you do with the stock seats, speaker grills or what do you have. Are you selling any of the parts that were removed?

Looks great! What did they do for storage at the helm like you mentioned? That’s one of my pet peeves on my Carrera, I have to throw all my stuff in a cubby under my seat.

There wasn’t much room in the side panel but we were able to use a space about 12” Long 8” high and 8” deep added a pouch with a zipper. Definitely enough room for your basics. Also added a 2nd Storage box under the hatch in front of the. Co-pilot seat .

Great job River22.... I just re read this chain and didn't see that anyone asked you the all in cost for your "New" boat. Let's see now; DCB Interior & Teague 825 engine... [was that a stock 525 stretched to a TCM 825?]well you certainly went best in class. I'm surprised nobody asked the "all in" cost so I will. I've got a 2006 Magic 30' wizard so always like to stay in the loopski.

Great build Rivr22. I'm with you that I love my boat and I'd rather keep it than get another one. I hadn't thought of DCB as a potential interior shop so that is a great find. I'm also trying to figure out whether to stay fiberglass, go carpet or go Sea Dek. You have a very interesting concept with "both". You have carpet and Seadek. I like the look. Lot's of great ideas here! I look forward to seeing you on the water. If you see us, say hello and the Beer is on me!

Crickets. Oh well..... I'm always curious about the cost of doing such a refresh on an older model boat. If the numbers work its a good solution given that hull technology hasn't expanded in this class boat to my knowledge. Same molds right....His/ my Magics are same vintage.... so why not gut it and add new power... he probably ran a 496HO at stock like mine has and he threw a Teague beast 825 in doubling output, whoa. I have no knowledge on costs on such a build but I bet a new comparable deck out of the crate with that power has gotta be appx $175K but as mentioned I've got next to zero knowledge other than I walked the LA show this year.

What are your questions ? I have a Teague 1050 in my 05 Deck.
Do you have dual rams for hatch and if so can you help me with pics and mounting. I am wanting this fixed asap. I see on my hatch there may be upper mounting issues due to different upper location on hatch. Just trying to figure out the best and cleanest configuration for adding starboard ram.

I do not have Dual Rams yet, I am waiting for my appointment over at Coast Motor Group to have them installed. When my boat was in for service they checked and the second ram will fit after they relocated a couple of hoses that are in the way next to the stringer. Robert (CMG) said it is hit and miss with Deck boats based on how they were rigged. Id reach out to him to see if it's possible.

That's who advised it will not fit. 🤷‍♂️ I have 3" between the header and fiberglass. I would think the stringer/ motor mounts/ engine configuration would have to all be somewhat identical with reguards to clearance between header and fiberglass. I understand rigging with electrical, hoses, fuel pump, etc... that can all be manipulated to allow clearance for the footing mount for the ram.
