With all the ingenuity involved with something like this, or any of the other high end deals, seems like the hardtop could be made to extend both forward and back. It would probably have to be made of carbon fiber though, or something else like it, to maintain rigidity.

I actually saw one like that this weekend on a smaller cabin cruiser. the hardtop was hollow so to speak and you could it was actuated and pushed back like a sleeve sliding out...pretty cool. I think it worked similar to an electric cover for a patio or an RV

Yes. They did a great job with these things.

Personally I’d give up the retracting side(s) for a larger hard top.. I know that isn’t an option currently but more shade would be cool. They do have the pop up shade options for when you are beached that address that partially.
Again thank you! We're exploring a couple different avenues to help out with shade. Our rear shade extension from @Siteshade provides enough for the rear seating so we already started looking at expanding off the front of the hardtop & party deck sides. Love'n that feedback. 👍👍

I really liked the Siteshade extension setup.

I am not in their marketing department. But if I was…….. One of those boats would be heading to Boot Düsseldorf, The Worlds Largest Indoor Boat Show. People fly from all over the world for this event.

I can easily see these being sold in Dubai and Saudi Arabia. Believe it or not……. Saudi Arabia has some beautiful boating areas. On 2 different coasts too. No shortage of funds. My friends sold custom sand cars in Saudi. Average price 15 years ago for a sandcar in Saudi, was $175k for what we could buy for 60k at the time, as an example.
@C-Ya you're rapping with the marketing department right now & I love the insight. I'll have to look into Boot Dusseldorf 100%!

We have a build going to a serious VIP in Saudi Arabia & will be presented/showcased at an international event. & True story, sales/buyers/dealers/marketing are the last of our issues... it's essentially time & production. Unfortunately, 2023 does not allow much for time for craftsmanship & this "amazon culture" we love; people want what they want & wanted it yesterday.

The Team is focused on production & our processes continue to be refined daily which is expediting our overall build time. A lot more Chasetoons to come!

No matter who is at fault, the channel on a regular week is tough.....during DS and Super Cat it is fucking crazy.

What about taking the two seats out in front of the helm and make a little changing room/toilet/spot to get out of the sun? Maybe even a small a/c unit for the kiddos? I think that would great.

Your toons are amazing. Great job!!!
Ya it was pretty packed and dealing with 36 feet of boat can go side ways pretty quick. Those are great ideas and possibly may do them in the future as we have some ideas on different bottoms but with it being toons we dont have much room to go under the floor. For more shade we can add to any place on the boat.

I see a lot of yachts with an assortment of toys…….

The toon in this thread could easily become another one of those toys. It would need to have davit hooks installed at the balance point so it could be lift onto deck or a collapsable hardtop to go into yacht garage. I know I would give that thing a hell of a run in the Bahamas. BTW, I have never seen a pontoon boat in the Bahamas! Lol

BUT……. I did see a 19’ Larson deckboat at Tahiti Beach on Elbow Cay. The guy told me he boated it from FTL. I was blown away! That’s 180 miles from FTL in a Lake Boat. My beer wouldn’t fit in that boat! Lol
I think you are on to something, we have talked about making the top redactable.

Since you are not needing to tie the motors together, these wouldn't benefit with a joist stick control... just adds cost...lol

Such a cool and well executed concept. Curt always does a good job guiding his team to keep up with and even set the current trends.
We have an amazing team from ideas, to concept to execution

I believe #5 is getting a joystick. That is my friends boat. It’s also getting 2 400 v10s.

Can you get in the boat from the water via the sides? Do they have a ladder? If not that is key too. No one wants to swim near two outboards.

Side shade would be key too. Think two poles into two holes and the edge of the side and a canopy that attaches there and the hard top for extended shade. Removable and storable.

If you zoom in on the tender is this pic…….. it has a retractable hardtop. You can see the hardtop behind driver. They are preparing to lift tender into yacht garage.

We can add shade to the boat anywhere and takes minutes to set up

This is a fun thread……

I rarely post or talk about my 700hp Playcraft Tritoon. But I think I can ad to the this conversation if I tell all of how it was set up.

First, the only twin motor tritoon I had ever seen, I owned, They were rare to non existent. When I got mine, they were custom builds. I found mine when I saw that the previous owner had just set the current at that time, world speed record, for a tritoon…… 98.7 mph, at The Lake of the Ozarks shootout. When I learned he was selling it……. I called him and bought it over the phone. Then had it delivered to Arizona.

My boat had a full race set up. The best feature was that it had controls in the steering wheel. My right thumb could control tilt and trim, while my left thumb could control the Jack-plates. The Jack plates were the most important addition the previous owner did. The Jack plates gave me more control when the boat turned into a kite. They acted like a set of brakes too.

So let’s say I am cruising the boat at 80 plus. Rather than let off the throttle when the bow popped up, all I had to do was just give a tiny tap of the down button on the plates, and it would pull the nose down, while loosing less speed, than it would if I let off the gas. It did this because it just needed, at that moment, just a smidgeon of drag, to pull the bow down. Sometimes this was done for wake management, other times it’s just because the bow caught too much air.

If I had to slow the boat down in a hurry…….. I just kept my thumb on the down button of the Jack plates. This was DANGEROUS. Why? It is because the rapid de acceleration from 90 to 60, would stand my passengers up, and they would be heading for bow. I called this “walking the plank”. The first time this happened it was a real surprise. I solved it by full communication with my passengers……. Hold On! I could also tap the throttle to put them back in their seats.

The Jack plates both ad and reduce drag. When used properly, especially on a high horsepower tritoon, they are a great addition.

I wish I could continue, but I have decided it’s too nice a day……. Not to go boating.

To sum up my post in a nutshell……. Jackplates with steering wheel controls are a great setup for many reasons. The End

So my wife came home from work, panties dripping because of a badass boat she saw heading to Elsinore...she said it had two huge outboards hanging off the back...I am thinking DCB or something headed out to test....she was like no, it was like a pontoon but not a pontoon, it had like a steering wheel in the middle, she was so excited talking about it...it took me a while, then I was like maybe the Luxe Chase Toon so I dug up a pic and she was like YESSSS thats it, thats the baddest boat I have ever saw (mind you, we go t havasu and see plenty of badass boats)...

I still am not sure if it was it, because she said it was blue and I havent seen any pics of a blue one yet? @MikeyLooy @curtiej10 was it one of yours?
