Looks to me like its going to be a heavier boat compared to other toons on the market? Any idea what it will weigh compared to other toons? The design and layout is pretty cool. Curious how it will perform on the water.

You can tell it heavier from a drawing?

I like the center console idea, I'd move it back a bit though, so the driver can talk to the passengers next to him easier.

I don't like the area in back. I'd rather not have people close to the engines/drives. But, it is a bitch when people wanna swim in deep water (not beached). I'm not sure what a real solution is here. *shrug*

Needs way more deck up front. Easier to dock and better ingress and egress on the beach.

Do what you have to do to max out the fuel storage capacity! This is a tough one on a toon. They are more weight sensitive than most people realize.

I'm not a fan of the hard tops. Way to hard to build a cover for. Not everyone has a huge garage.

Change up the front seating area, so someone can lay down easier.

Just my 2cents from the past six/seven years of owning a toon. :)

Looks awesome. I take it this is a new venture? Unfortunately new boat companies seem to never get off the ground, hope it does, someone has an eye for style.

The hardtop is first of its kind for a pontoon. Typically they have vinyl Biminis. I’d imagine that weighs 500-760 lbs?

Now this is a toon I could see myself buying.
Need to see the first one in person.

Like the space on the swim deck on the single vs twin.

Sounds like it would be in that range with 400’s.. 190 with 300’s.

not sure what the options are on the boat but being it is CC themed.. if they integrate CC electronics that can get expensive quickly.

Doubtful at this price point. Whats a dual motor 30’ custom CC run? More $$ than this is for sure.

No it won’t weigh that much. It’s fiberglass, not steel. The higher end pontoons already have one huge giant roll bar that goes across the entire boat, and that is the bulk of the weight of the “top”. With this you are adding a couple more fixed supports and a fiberglass top Instead of a foldable stainless steel structure with canvas. it also looks like this top will be lower than the toon rollbars.

I’d be surprised if it was 150 pounds more than what is on a full Bimini dual engine pontoon with a roll bar.

I put a full stainless with solid and mesh sunbrella on my boat/toon. I can store it however I want: Down, up, radar front or rear. It's a bit of a pain to be honest, but I would no way want a fixed top.

It is no secret that I am one of the creators of Luxe Custom Crafts Chasetoon. The feedback and response have been amazing, and we gladly like to hear what people think about our pontoon. Please continue to post comments on your thoughts and ideas.

Mr. Hadd told me you were working on something new and cool!

Google “Chase Toons”. This RDP Lounge thread top first page Google. 👍
Seems these guys need a little more Internet content. What is actual name of manufacture? This boat going to have market impact for sure.

Pontoons that are same length it may be only a bit heavier. We are not going to use marine grade plywood like some pontoon manufactures. This will drop a lot of weight. Yes the hard top will add more weight than a canvas Bimini but overall it should be fairly close to equivalent pontoons.

Thank you for post. While we know we can’t please every person we definitely are taking all suggestions seriously and trying to make the best pontoon possible.

Nearly anyone that is in the market for a toon in this price range has a “high profile” toon with a roll bar already.

We have been working on this project for sometime but the name Chasetoon is new. The name came from the idea that this pontoon will chase you “speed boat” similar to how a chase truck chases your trophy truck. Our company name is Luxe Custom Crafts out of riverside California. We are “new” company but are here to stay.

It is a new venture but we have all the backing to be around for a long time. Thanks for the comment

Well let’s be honest, you are going after the 175k+ toon market here. 99% of those folks have a storage solution (RV garage or rented storage) with an extended height. No one is buying a $200k toon and expecting it to fit in a 8 foot ceiling garage. I get that the fixed roof isn’t for everyone, but I don’t see it as a compromise for someone spending that kind of money on a toon, because that compromise was likely already in their plan, and they likely have RV height storage and just leave all the tops fully up all the time anyway.

Can I borrow your crystal ball? I need to win the lottery...

This is a pretty obvious one. If you have a roll bar on your toon, 90% chance you store it in an RV garage with the tops up all the time. It might as well be a hard top, and most of those fouls would rather have a low profile hard top Vs. a 9 foot tall roll bar.

We wanted to do something different and by have a side swim platform this was the only way we could achieve it.

Oh snap! I didn't notice the side swim deal. Makes total sense now. I like it even more !

Why wouldn't you use marine grade plywood? Even if you does add some weight. Are you just using standard ply?

I like it, looks and concept but I'd imagine it's going to be a HEAVY toon, it's going to require a ton of HP.
My 36Concept CC had a Fiberglass top and a huge console and it was top heavy in sea's.

No there are composite materials you can use now that are basically rot free and extremely light.

Question Curt, are you manufacturing these from the ground up? Or are you buying the “toon base” from another manufacturer and building it from the deck up?

We are having custom toons made to our specs by a custom toon builder. We have already order the first 6 sets. They’ll be completely ready to go with the fuel cells (45 gallons per side total of 90 gallons) and the deck ready for our floor

Not as heavy as you think. Using a composite floor will save a ton of weight.

Skid, Curt is on the right track here if he’s using what I think he’s using. Lighter, stronger, zero rot like he said, and in testing I did with it absorbs 0 water. Not one gram by weight.
Best of luck, Curt.👍

Yeah water logged marine grade plywood ain't light🤣

Composite/man made boards are far better, light in some cases and a heck of a lot more $ even with today's wood prices.

Good luck with the venture!

Will there be any customization available? Colors, interior layouts, floor material (i.e. carpet, gator step, etc..), that kind of stuff? What trailer manufacturer are you going with? Will they need to be serviced at your location or will you be partnering with someone in Havasu?

This is a fully custom toon. From your color choice and graphics with our help (no motor home graphics!) we have a custom trailer maker. We will have partners across the country.

So aluminum tubes and fiberglass upper?
Going paint or gelcoat?
And building in Riverside?
Trying to do this in Cali seems like an uphill battle.

As cool as Toons are … the dull blotchy gray aluminum sides are ugly.
I had a pontoon once and buffed out the sides to a perfect shiny finish … it lasted 4 times in the water.
They gotta figure out how to keep the shine and then you’ll have a total package … otherwise … it’s still a “Toon” .

Overall rig looks great. Not a toon guy but who knows?? —plans and lifestyles change.

Lots of comments on the fixed top.

From the pics it looks like top is supported by posts without and major curves. Could the top be made to telescope? Thinking all the way down for towing and storage. Then can be raised to a driving height and the all the way up to walk under??
