Thinking about heading to Blythe for the Memorial Day weekend. Anyone know what the water levels have been like? Would hate to drag my boat out there and find the water levels are too low.

Love that boat. Can't believe she has the boat but I'm sure she can drive it just as well.

That boat convinced me to buy a Stoker. She an drive it but not nearly as well as my buddy, Randy did. RIP buddy, I surely miss you.

What's funny is my buddy wanted a place back at the river and she was totally against it but now has another place out there.

My dad lives a mile North of the 10, said the water has been VERY low the last few days. He said yesterday the water was a foot from the end of our ramp....usually only gets that low in January!!!! He said it rained quit a bit last week so I'm hoping that has something to do with it.

Thanks for the information. Hoping the water was low because they stopped the flow due to the rain.

RR, up until a couple of weeks ago, the water was very high down here in the Martinez Lake area.

Below is our barometer. 2 weeks ago, that bumper was 4 inches under water, and there were absolutely no sandbars to pull up on.

Now, the bumper is laying on its' side, which means there are plenty of them now.......

Not good to hear. Nice to hear other peoples comments on water. When I spoke with someone at McIntyre Park they told me that water is always high. I imagine they want everyone to think that or no one will show up for the long weekend.

It's 10x easier to launch outta McIntyre then riviera. This was saturday just below jungle beach, second pic was sunday around 9am at riviera, and water just got lower threw out the day usually the water is damn near to the palms. uploadfromtaptalk1431964430635.jpg uploadfromtaptalk1431964338232.jpg

Up until this last week/weekend the water has been VERY high, almost scary high. I kept thinking soon they will close the gates, hopefully they let out some good water this weekend.

I hope it's high this coming weekend. Would hate to make the 4 plus hour drive out there and find out it was wasted.

You should be ok, I know with them having a good amount of rain the farmers didn't need that much water for there crops.

Holy moly..... Never seen it THAT low at Riviera..... :(
I have been going there since I was 12 with my uncle and I'm 34 now, and I'm in the same boat as you lol, yesterday was the very first time I've seen no water in the lagoon at riviera. My uncle and I pulled out 2 guys that where stuck on the ramp and just spinning tires amd trailers stuck on the drop off, they had to carry there ski across the lagoon.

I noticed how bad it was as we crossed over the river on the way back from Phoenix. Rare to see that much sand north of the bridge.

I can promise you that if you don't make the trip and leave the boat in storage that you will have wasted the weekend...

If you make the trip and bring the boat you'll have a MUCH greater chance to boat...

Kind of my thinking as well and why most likely we will head out and take our chances. One year we came out and the water level was very low. We heard they shut the dam down due to someone drowning and they would start releasing water again once a body was recovered. We decided to head home since we werent sure how long it would be before water was flowing. We got home and heard it was only a few hours. We were sure upset with our decision to come home early that day.

I just got back yesterday from McIntyre and the water was bit more tricky than I've experienced in the past. South seemed to be ok but heading north to/past the 10 you really had to know what you were doing. I "found" 2 sandbars when we had arrived on Thursday so Saturday was spent at the very 1st sandbar/island to the north and everything was good to go. Saturday night Goose Flats had a mini waterfall coming over the rock wall, never seen it like that before.

i was out at Walters Camp last sunday to bring the boat back for a little TLC..and noticed the water was up a little bit from the past few weekends (i can tell from the water level on our sea wall). i am also hoping for some decent water too. trim it high and let it fly:thumbup:

Water really hasn't fluctuated much around the Martinez area. It's still low. Should be plenty of sandbars to camp on this weekend.....

I'm going to hope that the water level is up. It has been awhile since we have been out on Labor Day. Had three years in a row of bad luck so stopped going.

Just saw this posted on the Lower River Junkies facebook page.

Hope they add some water to the river... I'm in Blythe and there is sandbar from my dock almost to the Arizona side.. Scary low

I was looking at that chart today which made me cancel our trip. Yes, today's Parker water release will be in Blythe tomorrow. So, tomorrow will be low as well. I'm sad we were unable to go but relieved we didnt make the drive and find out we couldnt launch.

I use this chart. It has Blythe at I10 on it.

http://www.usbr.gov/lc/region/g4000/hourly/hourly.html

Also for looking a day ahead USBR told me it takes 24hrs for Parker water to reach Blythe. So if Parker is low today. Blythe will be low tomorrow.
