The hydros ain’t my style but you can’t overlook the other detail put into these cars they are a piece of art on wheels down to the smallest things. With that said here’s my 58 impala on air bags. View attachment 1362759
Thing is many can be intimidated by the guys who own the cars. I’m far from fitting the profile but truth is be cool they’re very cool guys to talk about the cars. Respect goes a long ways.I know I posted about it many years ago.
Rolled into Vegas Friday night a decade or so ago for a wedding.
Low buck.
Fremont street
There was a low rider club in the lot, at least 4 states represented.
Long day, kids at school, wife work, me work. Then drive to Vegas
Got them dialed in and said I’m getting a beer and check out the cars.
My wife says ok, be careful.
Those guys are awesome.
Asks about the car. A 20 minute story from the heart.
One guy had his jams, under trunk lid, under hood, with murals of people.
I asked him about it.
Well? That’s my Tio Jesus.
Then realized I’m a white guy.
Grandma over there.
Sister there.
Cousin down there.
It was like a rolling wall of mural art dedicated to his family.
The amount of detail and passion there is no gauge for.
100 percent, my wife is Spanish so she started off the conversations for me. Every owner we talked was down to earth.Thing is many can be intimidated by the guys who own the cars. I go to some shows and cruise nights some these guys will hand me a modelo or corona and I take it.
The modelo/corona guys get it....it's the guys with a bottle of Night Train you gotta be careful of.Thing is many can be intimidated by the guys who own the cars. I’m far from fitting the profile but truth is be cool they’re very cool guys to talk about the cars. Respect goes a long ways.

This was In Westminster today. We saw them on the 22 yesterday and heard they were all parked there today. Small but yet fun show.Been my experience going to shows. I know quite a bit of guys over the last few years I’m Mexican too but more a white Mexican.
First time I took my wife she was lil nervous but realized they’re all down to earth and love to talk about the cars.

We noticed all the engraving on everything today. I assumed it was something newThe engraving has gone insane in the last 10 years. Everything from engraving brake rotors to rocker arms lol.

Nice. I like those wheels too
I like a tricked out '63 Impy convertible just as much as an insane hot rod.I've always been a function over form guy....but I can appreciate some nice finish work. There comes a point when it's just showing off and spending EBT card $$ that makes it just stupid. Engraving on rocker arms? Never been a fan of the lowriders past the paint work. The rest of the car is mostly undriveable shit in the examples I've had the opportunity to look over.
What an awesome ride. The paint is over the top cool.
Interesting. The display says Dave turned the car into a lowrider, and he died in 1978. The family finished the project after his death. At the American history Smithsonian in DC a few months ago.

Thanks. My dad had painted it for me. It was one of the last cars he had painted if not the last one. What an awesome ride. The paint is over the top cool.

Might as well take it out. Going with a couple uncles who are taking their cars.
