They do golf balls somewhat as a gimmick. The real testing is artificial poo. Pretty gross stuff but accurate.

PS. If anyone is looking the American Standard Champion series is the best flush for the buck. High end toilets look nice but worry more about looks than getting rid of a big deuce. Put on in the kids bathroom when we had a full house. Stopped having to constantly plunge the old one.

It’s been 20+ years but Toto’s were generally the best back when I tested them.

Replace the fill valve with a Korky valve with adjustable overflow tube.

If you are just worried about sending it down the line, open the overflow tube adjustment all the way and it will put extra water down the toilet bowl while the tank is filling.

Also try eating less.

The adjustable korky valve was originally designed for American standard.. my old man designed that. The previous Korky valve that was small and looked like the starship enterprise aka the Korey 612 was originally the Fillpro valve model number 216.. my dads bday is 216 that valve is what bought the river house planes boats etc before he sold it.

Can’t blame Newsom for this one. Jerry Brown got the 1.2 low flow approved 8 years ago. 🙃 7 other states have similar requirements
Ok fair enough but Newsom had and has the ability to undo it and every other BS policy, but he won't he also has the power to get rid of CARB I would imagine but here they are getting paid to fuck up our lives one regulation at a time. The democrat party is too beholden to the environazis and the farce of climate change ending the world in 10 years or sooner.

They make a really good product. Haven’t tested them for awhile. I know a few of the manufacturers spend more money on design than how to flush better with a fraction of the water. The newest toilets are down to .8 GPF. The old school toilets/tech wouldn’t come close to working.

I'm not upset about the incandescent light and fluorescent light ban. LED's arent that expensive anymore and they last quite a long time with more light output.

The Ultra-low NOX shit is garbage light RB said. Heat Pumps make more sense in just about all SCAQMD installations now-a-days as well.

I want to know, when the heat pump water heaters take a shit....... who is going to fix them? Or is the heat pump unit made like a RV A/C where it is usually just easier to replace the whole thing? Also, the increased maintenance costs. You now have an air filter to replace as well as an Evaporator coil to keep clean. Is there any condensate discharge to pipe to a drain as well?

Wow cool story. Funny, a good friend on mine's dad came up with the push down faucet you see in public restrooms and a good friend recently invented the shower head that turns off at the first sense of hot water. I think SDGE gave them to customers.

It the first thing you do when you buy a toilet is put in a Korky. Its even in our pool fill housing.

Turns off at in hot water ??? That isn't how I take a shower. 😂😂😂

HAHA. Its for people that turn on the shower waiting for hot water then dont get in right away. Also a good notice that the shower is hot. You just pull an attached cord and the water starts flowing again. Great for kids room. LOL he gets around by Jet now.

My LHC house built in 2002/2003 has awesome toilets, one I had put in was the higher type for my elderly Mother-in-Law.... The plan is to likely sell the house in about 7-10 years. I will trade the toilets with my OC house prior to listing the LHC house. I love the idea on "Fixing the shower heads" in hotel rooms, The one thing I do, when possible, is if the fan goes on with the light, if I can unplug the fan - I DO.

Ultra low nox furnaces have the highest failure rate I have seen in my career. Only in SCAQMD territory. We rarely sell gas for this reasonanmd have gone almost exclusively with heat pumps for our clients.

How hard is to repair a heat pump? Or are they disposable.

I have read quite a few issues with the new water heaters. Some are dead on arrival.

No different than repairing an AC.

We have installed quite a few heat pump water heaters with no issue.

The heat pump water heater I need to install is for owner of a HVAC company. So one of his guys should know how to work on that part. He installed a heat pump for the house. AcPro unit. It was cheap enough I would think you would just swap a new one in. But my neighbor had 1 installed and it was faulty out the box. And the company refused to put a new one in. They tore it down and put a new part in it under factory warranty.

This will be my first one to install. There is a garage sink going next to it if I need to run a condensate drain. I ran 10 gauge to it in case they want to put a regular one in later.

I prefer just a regular water heater but going to have to learn all these new things. Have a set of plans I bid with a electric tankless required on it.

Huge market for the tankless, mini split and ad the new water heaters to the list.
