Wife and I flew in last night to check out the lake and look at possible retirement properties. Checked out 5 homes today and will be here until Sunday continuing our search. This lake is amazing, a true epicenter for boating.

LOVE LOVE LOVE LOTO. I’d just recommend renting for a year and go through a winter before buying. That lake completely shuts down for 4 months. Restaurants close etc. if you’re a ca native might be a shock.

We’ll be out there for the cigarette run in a few weeks.

Be informed what the water conditions will be like at your dock & in your area. From the Bagnell Dam 0 mile marker to Margaritaville at 25mm can be the worst water you have probably ever seen every Saturday now thru after Labor Day. Our 30' Skater wasn't enough boat on a Saturday afternoon. If you are on the main channel in that area plan to spend $$$$ on dock repairs every year. That area is the busy side of the lake with most of the big bars & gigantic yachts. Once you pass 4 corners near Cave Bar & Larrys on the Lake the water gets progressively smoother. looks great. My son's real estate development company is doing a development at LOTO. The winters may take some adjusting for us So Cal folks.

Thanks for the info. We looked at a house yesterday on the main channel near mm11 with a dock and I immediately saw how much it moved when a couple boats went by. We can see how being off the main channel is a must, but not so far in a cove that the water gets stagnant. We found an incredible house in Camdenton in a cove off mm33. Nice and peaceful and a short boat ride to hit the main channel. Bad part is Camdenton doesn’t seem to be as nice of an area as Osage Beach or Lake Ozarks.

Developement is funded and put together by performance boaters - mark waddington (owner of of PBC) has been somewhat involved from what I hear but it’s mostly Greg Harris and Adam saraphines deal. Gonna be a cool set up for sure. Pretty sure you can get in on building still. If you need Greg or adams cells to discuss PM me.

Yes, had a place on South Grand since '97. Moved here full time in 2019 for retirement.
PM me if you get out this way, lots of options with RE along good dining and lodging places. Cost of living similar to LOTO in places.

Farther up the lake is a lot calmer , mellow , economical , stuff has gotten silly the past year,s , should have bought 10 15 years ago but O well , fun to run up past 60mm , heading down next month , hope to get down a couple time,s this year .
