Dude. No brained. But Scott’s ballet so he can get the cigarette he wants. 😁👍

Thanks for the pics Al. Looks like
You guys had fun even with the rain.

You guys should run out in June for one of the runs. Weather is perfect.

I'm going to buy another Cig just to make him jealous! 🤣 Seriously though, the Hallett is a great boat and I think he should keep it. I'd love to get a clean a CR. This one is gorgious but I don't think it is for sale:

This one is is a possability:

Weather was fantastic up until Friday afternoon, then the humidity came in. Saturday wasn't bad and we had a great day running around. It was a good excuse to look around by car instead of on the water.

Definitely will be going back. We'll be looking at the events calendar. It would be fun to do the Cigarette Rendezvous.

I can’t see those boats as I’m not on facefuck. But looks like you guys had a good trip. We’re planning on being out there in June next year.

And yet Mystic is still faster lol

Like I said. Cosker is a naval architect. Only boat built specifically to run 200 plus.

I always fuck with him and tell
Him he needs to make mystic shirts that say “Our day starts at 244 mph….the day is young”

But he’s moved away from big crazy fast cats and is building what the customers want. Big CC’s. You want him to build a 200 plus mph cat that will punish records like American ethanol and Qatar, he will, but it’s gonna cost you. And it’s gonna be a while since his build schedule is chock full.

Mystics have arguably the most beautiful boat lines in the industry and are fast as fuck. I have a ton of love for that brand. If I was into the big boats Mystic would be on my short list… but… I love Skaters too and the lineage of that brand and their culture. Nothing wrong with either.

Same, same. If i hit the lotto I’d be in for a big power Skater 368. Super clean lines and timeless. ( Don’t think I’d do 1100’s 😬). The hull is proven and absolutely hauls ass. Super lotto and i was looking to set records or catch fish it would be a Mystic.

I love 368’s. Have spent time on Steve’s @Skinny Tire AH 368 and it’s an amazing boat. It didn’t even recognize rollbar boat wakes. It just eats it all up.

Thanks Rob. Great meeting you too. Wish we had run into you guys on the water. Thanks for letting us store the truck and trailer there and giving us the lowdown about the lake and ramps and such. We owe you a steak dinner! 👍😁

We had problems inside of 15 seconds of getting out of the truck..

I’d rather be in Mexico.. at least the language barrier would take longer than that. lol
Well that rig & boat are a tad conspicuous in poorer areas JaJaJa. Maybe its the Snoop Doggy wheels and low profile tire package.

Glad you all made it okay. I still have over 1K miles to Vegas then I have to drive another 400 miles back up north after that.

Well the boat is over at its new home (new storage). I backed it about 1/2 way in because I’m gonna go wipe it down tonight..

That windshield works wonders because the inside of the boat is amazingly clean. The outside could use a wipe down but nothing that 30 minutes with some cleaner won’t solve.

We went through four torrential rain storms in NM.
I’m almost wondering if the rain gave us a free wash.. lol

Looks good, I thought it needed to be shrunk and bubble wrapped in order to survive that drive??

It was a great Shootout this year even with the rain. It’s amazing how the lake is so calm today. After the Shootout crowd leaves we get a couple of days of calm water and then the Labor Day weekend crowd arrives.

Holly crap, you towed it through 4 rain storms without having it shrink wrapped with Jesus Christ’s ball sack?

How many wheel bearings did you not have to Nascar on the side of the road?

Hell of a cool boat and seems like a fun race team. Impressive runs considering it was basically their test trip. I just don’t know how they get close to 244mph on a 3/4 mile course. Drag cars improved by figuring out how to hook up faster and more efficient. Unless they’ve figured out some kind of prop slip magic.. It’ll be fun to watch though.
Wonder how long they have to wait between runs for the cool down period.
What does a top fuel drag boat run? Isn’t it a 1/4 mile or close to it? I mean I realize this isn’t a drag boat but they are in the 244mph mark in less distance right?

HP/LB ratio must be much higher along with much less hydrodynamic and aerodynamic drag.

Last overnight on the road in Holbrook (hopefully). Scott's truck has a coolant leak. Pissed out 1 gallon over abut 100 miles. Stopped leaking once it cooled down but the overflow tank was empty. I filled it and it started a slight drip. Will see what it looks like in the morning. Can't see where it is leaking from. Scott ordered a new water pump just in case. 250K miles on the truck.

I'm 350 miles from his house. Hoping I can limp it back. I have two gallons of coolant and 5 gallons of water. I'll stop every 50 to 100 miles to check it. 78 degrees and cloudy here now but tomorrow's forecast for Vegas is 103! o_O

Bummer.
No reason to put any coolant/anti freeze in it if it has a leak. Just get more water on hand.

There are hardly top fuel boats left but they are running 240 ish in 875 feet now. I think literally the only one running now is Liquid Voodoo

Spirit of Texas ran 275 in 1000 feet and I think the record in the 1/4 was 265 by Problem Child

I got to hang out with the old crew chief for Spirit of Texas at a Poker Run years ago and asked him what he thought they would run in the 1/4. He said they actually stayed in it one pass to 1320 and they were over 300 mph.

I believe a TF hydro is too short for the Shootout rules. Also even though there’s a no wake zone, the main channel is still pretty stirred up and the course is rougher than people think. I don’t think a TF hydro could run safely in that water. I don’t remember the year but probably around 2007 or 2008 Miss Budweiser, an unlimited hydroplane ran and won the top gun, I don’t remember the speed, but it was cool to see.

Watch the PWC that ran 100 at the shootout. Y’all think the water is smooth, but it’s not. No hydro is going to lay down a pass on that water!
