Bendpak is the way to go. They have so many options. They recently installed a two post in my garage that they designed for lower ceilings (I believe they call it a mid-rise lift). The ones at the boat show last year were Bendpak and the two boats were ours. They have a custom crossbar for the front of the trailer to rest on.

I'm not sure where you are located. You're welcome to come see my lift setup for a feel of what they're like. I'm in Orange County SoCal and have a lift with two classic chevy's on and under it. I'll try to post a video. Not that it shows much or answers many of your questions. I think mine is Garage Buddy or something like that. I can't fit my flat bottom under it or on the top rack, the trailer is too wide. Agree with what is said above about putting boat on top. I seem to recall a hitch mount being an accessory you could add on but I could be wrong. It would be very easy to add one to the cross bar on the back of the lift.

Regarding your questions about room for stuff: I would suggest getting some PVC pipe and building a four post mock up to the outside dimensions of the lift you want. Leave it up for a few weeks and walk around it, move the bikes around it. This will give you a pretty good feel for size. IF not a whole square on top to mimic the frame then at least build PVC legs and place them on ground where post would be and see what it's like to move around them.

Car from Utah: I go up and back quite often and will be hauling a job up soon to Centerville. I'll use my enclosed car hauler to deliver the cabinets up there but it will be coming back empty. If timing all worked out I'm happy to haul the car back for you. I'd charge you a case of beer but I don't drink.........

My Dad passed pretty suddenly 7 years ago. He was 68. We worked together for 20 years and were best friends. I still draw a tear from time to time when I'm sharing stories with others about how great he was. Grief is hard but this too shall pass.

Video is of me swapping cars so I could have Impala on ground for use the next day at my sons wedding.
