I'd be extremely pissed if it was the Giants now. I'm sure you Dodger fans are beside yourselves.
I kind of want the Indians to win just to keep the Cubs' losing streak alive.

Your team has gone home the last 28 years [emoji12]
28 years 108 years last or last year your team isn't there and they went home last round....how about a little credit.to a team that went a round further...I guess that's not possible for Giants fans...

Living on the same coast as the Dodgers I almost feel sorry, almost.
Bring on Ricky Vaughn.

Just got off the phone with my dad. We have box seats next Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Wrigley. Only issues my son has an event Saturday, so I am only attending Sunday and my little sisters get Friday and Saturday.

Go Cubs!

Disappointment all over again. The saving grace is that it's an even year and the Giants went out first.

This just shows you how hard it is to get to a World Series, let alone win one. You have to love Dodger Fans, they went further than the Giants and they call that a successful season. Only Dodger fans could justify a season in that way. Thats some funny stuff right there.

I know...it's so horrible how unsuccessful our season was...considering we made it to game 6 of the NLCS, won a 4th straight West title, and remained consistent throughout the season. How are us Dodger fans gonna live with ourselves now? :rolleyes:D

22 other clubs are envious of the Dodgers season[emoji1360][emoji1360][emoji1360][emoji1360]

I really don't think that's true. What's their payroll now a days? All they proved is you can not buy a World Series. What the Giants did on half the amount of money is incredible. Not making it to the World Series w a team of all stars. Eh I'm not impressed

The Dodgers had the biggest payroll for 2016 and won the NL pennant.

The Giants had the 5th largest and made it to the wild card game.

The Cubs had the 6th largest payroll and are in the World Series!

So maybe baseball is about money🤔

It's not about money that was my point. The dodgers wasted a bunch and still couldn't do it. What's to be proud of? Fans can't even watch the games [emoji41]

Very true ..
I've been a Cubs fan for 40 years.
Past & previous owners never spent the money to put a World Series caliber team on the field. They really didn't care. Wrigley has always been at or near the top in attendance. Regardless of product on the field.
They could have put an end to this 100 plus year drought 50,60,70 years ago if only previous owners had spent some cash.
Was nice to see the new owner (Ricketts) come in, and-spend some cash. Here we are in the big show..

Go Cubs..

On a side note, the Yankees have 27 World Series championships. That didn't happen by NOT spending money

I'm a lifetime Tigers fan and have been pleased with some great teams they've put together and won with a few times. My second favorite has been the Braves since the days in Milwaukee when it was Spahn and Sain and pray for rain. I was pretty young but watched the Tigers and Braves from my LL days on. Living in Houston, I became an Astros fan but Tigers and Braves still were whom I cheered for no matter who they played, even Houston.

The Yankee dynasty teams were due to the resources to pay the players. Today's structure of contracts makes it difficult to maintain the farm system to hold that level and the Yanks haven't been able to stockpile players like they have in the past.

I just like good baseball and seen some strong clubs over the years, Giants and Dodgers right near the top over and again.

But even though my favorite teams aren't here, I'm preparing for what is going to be a special series. Both have been through the longest of droughts and regardless of who wins, we will see baseball history on a grand scale. Both teams have suffered bad ownership over the years and bad players and managers, but this year that has all changed. Both are the best in their league and both have what it takes to win. I'm thinking we just might see 7 games and be both happy and sad when it's over......I have to lean towards rooting for the Cubbies as they've been the longest to win one for their loyal fans.

100% Roberts managed the year great...the last 3 games made some bad calls that kept them from at least having a chance.

I agree...I think Roberts did a great job. By manage....I also meant how the money is "managed" as well. I think some opportunities were missed by way of trades. The rotation took a hit from the beginning of the season, and what was done about it to help fell short. You can't roll into postseason with an Ace who missed a couple of months and a few maybes. Look at The Cubs for example.......solid 1-4. But yes, from a field level Roberts did an outstanding job shifting the pieces. Aside from Maddon....Roberts should get high votes for manager of the year as well.

I agree with all of that as well!
