I started filling out my ballot and I’m a little stumped. I was going to vote for Steve Garvey but then heard some things that made me second guess that. Anyone have anything right side conservativ?

Someone a couple decades ago brought us the jungle primaries, where everyone is on one ballot regardless of party, and the top 2 in the primary are head to head in the general. In a lot of races in CA, we get our choice of 2 democrats. There is no real write in, so you have to choose for less bad. The idea there, is you know they are going to vote yes on all the bad ideas, so you have to vote for the one without the imagination to PROPOSE any of the bad ideas. Because if it gets proposed, it will pass.

I’ve talked to numerous Deputy DA’s and none of them agree with Gascón‘s policy’s and are all voting for Hochman. Some of them will quit and go to another County if Gascon wins.

I'm still laughing that someone thinks it would be more "principled" to not honestly answer a question before the election. It's like bizarro world out here. Am I glad the nominee is Hochman? No. But he is one of the 4 who were running that I honestly believe wants to put criminals in prison. That is a much better option than Gascon. And knowing that there are only 2 options on this ballot, the idea that someone would choose to remain neutral when the choices are (prison for criminals) or (prison for victims, free shit for criminals, police do nothing but collect revenue because DA is a piece of shit) is just insane. It's not even a choice.

When you mention lesser of 2 turds, I wonder what our principled friends are going to do on all the judge races in LA County. Every one of them is a contest between 2 very left wing democrats. So the question is are you going to ignore it? Or try to figure out which sucks less.. I spent several hours trying to figure out what all these various groups and people who are endorsing these people are, and what their positions might be based on who is endorsing them.

And so when you are trying to figure out if you want to vote for the one endorsed by the Stonewall (militant gay) Democrats or the one endorsed by La Raza, it's almost an impossible choice. Like no matter what, it's a terrible choice. But do I want to leave that decision up to the tranny barista at Starbucks? Or do I want to try to figure it out and get the slightly better turd?

These jungle primaries are such cancer..
