How was it? Any new toys?
Lots of bling, but was only window shopping and saw a lot of new gorgeous boats. RD doing his thing, hard to recognize in button up shirt and long pants, dressed for success. Still a fun time.

Looks like I may be going to the show tomorrow. My youngest needs to go to LA Children's Hospital so I think I may hit the show with my 2 older daughters. We'll see if I can drag my uncle or someone along with me as well.

Is there any v-drives at the show? What company still builds a production v-drive? Stage1, 2 , 3 and finished hulls? I still dig the hot rods of the water world. But I'm probably not going to build another used one. Just to much work and money.
just an fyi... Billy B. has a sweet, brand new Kinsvater bare hull, red flake w/pearl white stripe for sale in his shop.

Was there today. Nordic/Hallett booth was great. The 29 Lavey is beautiful in person.

Didn’t want to interrupt his routine, but I did get a wave and a smile out of RD.

Open bow seat backs didn’t flow well with the rest of the boat and the rigging was quality but definitely not tidy. I felt like there was plumbing and wires all over the bilge IMO. I like when it’s hidden and clean. Besides that it was a really pretty boat. I couldn’t believe how deep the bilge was!!! It could probably tuck a BBC,chiller, and 71 series under the hatch.

Not a new toy for most of us but still an unbelievable boat. Pavati boats made the trip down and their boat does not disappoint absolutely beautiful well built and planned out boat, a must see if you go, RD is doing a review of it and yes they have and will put stripper poles in the boat. They just finished a 26 going to Canada with a duramax in it.

They built one like that in the early 2000s. Had a carb Teague 1000 and didn’t stick out of the hatch.

Truth be told I’m 6’ plus and didn’t see a motor when I walked by so I thought it didn’t have one. Then I climbed the stairs and seen the merc mill and thought damn that’s deep! Would love to see what the TCM 1000 looked like in there.

I wonder if @lavey jr has any archive pics of that boat?

I’ve always liked the 29s. They’re very deep boats. One with a Teague 1050 and SCX would be right up my alley...

Good show worth the drive, i haven't said that in years!

I dont get the metallic eliminator. But its not mine so it doesnt matter.
I will say i did like the cobras. Ive seen them on the water and never really paid attention. They are nice.

As usual, $200000 wake board boats...i dont get it.

Pontoons, im not sure. They are starting to look cheap with all the modular plastic shit on them. Like a over built RV. Its like they are trying too hard to get a specific look by slapping more hollow shaped things on them.

Did see a BUNCH of rdp there. It had a good turn out from what i saw.

If you had to ask how much for the Pavati you probably couldn't afford it, I know I couldn't. So we all took a guess and we weren't even close $315K Say What...

Chris sure was busy on Saturday. The entire time I was talking to Dave I think Chris spoke to about 4 or 5 groups of people. I do not think there was a single minute where Chris was sitting for the 4 hours we were at the show.

It was really nice to see all the big names for each brand were there. And not just hanging out behind boats or anything. They were out shaking hands and selling their brand. Not just a bunch of hired salesman like what was so popular in the convention center times.

so ,
are there any boats, us peasants , could afford? other then inflatables, with 1.5 hp.

in all reality, I think I do good for myself , and yet I would never think about buying a boat for 75k plus.
I guess the saying "as you get older, somethings just really don't matter any more.

Pretty sure you can get a Tahiti or shockwave for under 75k.

Both would be a quality built 60mph boat that a family would enjoy for decades.

I think this will be my last boat show for a while. I wasnt impressed. It was cool to see the performance hall but other than that it was kinda boring.

Ha, ummmm ok. Wont be seeing many on the water at this price

The Nordic deck was 180k with a 600 so I think the price was pretty comparable and not that far off compared to the competitors. The boat was well thought out and mimic traditional Hallett rigging.

The owner was there when we were checking that boat out. The look on his face when kids were doing WWE moves off the top rail on to the cushions made you cringe.

Really? Can’t believe people letting their kids do that shit in boats. I kept my kids out, but they know better not to do that.

I would have flipped out and caused a scene if I saw this going down in my sled.

Yeah, little tough to watch. He was pretty calm though. Guessing cause it’s almost boating season and he has a new toy.

I would hope you get a decent kick down for letting your stuff get abused. My boats you could wear golf cleats and do cartwheels...low maintenance rides;) I'd freak out with a boat that nice being abused by strangers. It's like coming back to your car at a car show and someone's eating chili fries in the driver's seat:eek:, or worse yet, someone else fondling your wife's new lift kit before you!

Or life’s to short to stress about the little shit. As I get older I find things can be fixed or replaced. It’s about having fun and making memories. Don’t get me wrong I’m not saying I’d let my kids be wild animals on someone else’s stuff.

My wife says the same shit. Only problem is, Shit don't get fixed or replaced which is why I have a saying around my house. "Can't have nice stuff". That means, you fucked it up, I no longer care.

I'm a hawk about other peoples stuff because I don't want to buy broken shit.
