Needs to be California legal, not looking for a project. I started a post in the classifieds also.
Thanks,
Mike

Gonna be hard to find a "Smoggable" one. They are becoming ultra rare in decent shape. I am selling mine to a member here in a few weeks, but it is AZ tagged.

I have a one. Don’t know if it’s ca legal. But it needs nothing I drive it some times to work 25miles each way. It’s slow as crap but it’s so much fun.

guy a few neighborhoods south here in East long Beach has maybe 12-14 of them. Usually half dozen on the street and I don't know how many he crams in his garage. Never met the guy but I'm always amazed when I drive by and see them. I'm guilty of having more cars than I need now and then, especially when I was in to Model A's and T's. If you wasnt I can swing by ad as him if he would part with one.

'nother guy IN my neighbor hood collects mid 80's Thunderbirds, fuckers are everywhere. He was living there before we moved in 22 years ago and he had them then. They're slowing all getting beat to shit, not a single one looks to be worth keeping. 20 years ago, ya. Not now.

lemme know.

Turns out that vehicles on the Island are exempt from having to have a smog certification. That should open things up a bit.

when they first came out I used to ask people who owned them "What does it want to be when it grows up ." Girlfriend had one. They are fun to screw around with off road .

those things are getting harder to find, they are popular to build into rock crawlers.

I had a really nice one I sold not too long ago. I didn’t realize the demand was so high, I priced it way too low.

It was nice to tow behind the motor home because it was light. My idea of good offroad and other people’s must be different, it was the most worthless off road vehicle I’ve owned lol.

That guy died last year (Jon Gates). He ran a samrai trans/tcase rebuild shop in long beach. At one point he had over 100 samarai's. Really cool guy. He helped me out in my samarai's many times over the years.

I remember looking at them new at Galpin Ford in the valley back in 1989, thought they were cool, but couldn't see myself driving one in LA traffic as a primary vehicle.

There is no way these things could do the LA Traffic, LOL....65 MPH is terrifying and takes a while to get there! :) They tow great though at 75!!

One morning I drove from Donuts and Direlects in HB as I was showing it there, and decided to head to Nicks in Seal Beach and take the 405. That was "fun". LOL

Looks like a great setup for the island, those golf carts are a pain, and you can’t take them into the interior.
He had a Hyundai porter that he used for the interior, this should work better for him and his family.

I drove mine today to grab some snacks at the store and got asked if I was selling once, and two thumbs up while driving. Love putting around in it.

You inspired me to get mine out for a snack and dog food run today. My thumbs are sore and had a guy at 7/11 ask if I’d sell her…said nope!

It’s crazy the amount of attention they get! I remember making fun of them back in the day. And I’m only 43.

Supposedly that guy restores them and ships them to Guam.

Went by his place yesterday and there's still quite a few parked around his house. Maybe someone in his family is caring on his tradition since his passing?

Just FYI!! I do not know the difference between the Samurai and A Sidekick, but there is one for sale on Mohave County/ Bullhead City Face Book with 32,000 miles(?) for $4500.00. Blue W/White Convertible Top

HEre is the link if someone needs a good TOWED. Im not sure I would trust the mileage with the condition the seat and body are. But who knows!

I had a sidekick, they are fun, but not as capable as the Samurai IMO, or parts viability.l The Fuel Injected motor is a nice throw in for a Samurai, though!

All this Samurai talk reminded me I need to finish the lift on mine. Ive had this one for a few years. This is my 3rd one I’ve owned. It’s a 92 with a fuel injected 1.6 liter in it. Not a race car by any means but the 1.6 definitely gives it some more power vs the 1.3 they come with.

I’ve had a Sami for years to run around at the river pretty ugly but capable as hell, lifted, lockers and it sounds like a Suzuki motorcycle when it hits 6000 RPM’s
Had a little trouble and my Son laid it over, so it need some work to get it back up and running. Tough to find
