Looking for a new boat

Been a long time lurker here always reading and watching things. Just decided to sell my boat to a long time friend that has been wanting it for years 25 Daytona.

it’s been a real long time sentence I’ve been boatless

I’ve owned and boated for 25+ years

272 baja 502mpi

28 Nordic heat 572 custom

25 eliminator 502 mpi

look for something new. Not sure what I want but not sure I can switch from a cat hull now after owning the 25 for 9 years

all ways liked the magics looking at a few 28 scepters Mcob for the family now. Are they any good? Ride ok? Solid boat? Don’t shake or rattle? must have full hydraulic steering to the helm I would prefer stock power like a 525. The couple I’m looking at have blower motors, not extremely excited about that budget is under 100k

educate me with your wisdom what’s out there what to stay away from what should I consider? I like nice stuff it must be super clean

We had a 28 deck. Boat rode good. Not a ton of rattles just need to tighten hardware on occasion. I think for a family you’d be very pleased with a magic. I know I was happy with it.

Magic is a solid hull with plenty of people who love them in the Havasu area. You will find that the deck hull will run you a good amount more green that the Septer, so of you are good with that, go for it. I'm 99.9% sure they have the same bottom so they will ride about the same.

My BIL's dad has his 2003 deck with a Paul Pfaff blower engine listed right now. Bad ass boat that has been absolutely babied.

Personally I like the conquest more than the magic.. but magics are loved by the people. Scepters are cheap compared to the decks.

For the amount of money people are paying for these things I’d pay a little more get something bigger with twins.. big twin fees are cheap as shit right now. Big Nortechs are cheap as shit..

It is a lot more boat to store and maintain and drive and trailer.. but you don’t give a shit what the water conditions are like and the e kids can go watch tv down below while the adults hang out.. lol

Storage is probably my biggest Challenge my garage will only support about a 28. I’ve had a cat for the last 9 years and not sure if I would regret a v again. Not afraid of twins but never owned one

If the scepter is your choice you should be able to find a really nice one under 80k. Merc. motor or teague would be my only choice on motors. Scepters seem to sell cheap assuming not in high demand. Seem like you basic scepter with a 496ho can be picked up for 50k

I would agree but people still think that there worth 100k with a 496 lol

I think you have a better Reality of what they should go for Not sure if there selling for those prices

i would prefer a blue motor but would consider other power but don’t want a 496. There great motors in stock form but not enough power

I’m just patiently waiting for the right one

got cash in hand

hopefully the deals start coming out now that we are reaching the end of the season
