Anybody have any interest or need for a floor stand Craftsman drill press?
Doing some spring cleaning and would like to see it go to a good home. Free for pick up in San Gabriel Valley.

Now just add a milling vise to those drills to finish your 80%

Some cool presses in here.

My dad had a table top clamp that held an old electric hand drill mounted horizontally. It was old, and maybe craftsman. It took a bit of searching, but this looks exactly what we had in our garage. LOL You can see our family was a bit tool challenged. I have made up for that since then.

Got the drill press home and got her plugged in. Fires right up but needs some cleaning and a new cord wired in. Took her apart to clean the old grease from the spindle and I just couldn’t help myself…
Completely stripped down and sent off to be sandblasted!

Just need to clean some powder coat out of the bore holes and I can start to reassemble her. I kept the motor together cause it worked great and cleaned up nicely. We’ll see how it looks after it’s all back together. Thanks again @River Dirt 2

Thats going to be awesome, glad it went to a good home.
My dad is happy too, it came from his hanger at El Monte airport when he kept his plane there.

Cheers!

I have fond memories of El Monte. As you dad if he knew Bob Dentice or Walt Podolece

That's badass! I've got one that's about half that size and my brother has what appears to be the same model.

Yes, he said he knew Bob Dentice well. He was the mechanic that would certify and help my dad do repairs and annuals.
my dad just turned 90 so has not flown in a while.

Baxter was his instructor.

My hangar backed up to Bill Mckennas . I' would imagine your dad also knew Jim Ewing. Jim was in the old Gould Hangar which was previously occupied by Butch.

Below is a photo of Bob all set up for an emergency landing at Van Nuys

Nice! I’ll show him tonight. My mom and dad kept bicycles at the hanger and rode around the airport. I’ll ask what his hanger number was, he had a fixed gear 182.
My dad got a ride in Ricks Smith P51 way back when for a birthday present.
