This bike is bad ass
Even not using assist it’s better to ride than my pedal bike
And so far almost every day I’ve been riding it
Granted I would get more exercise on the pedal bike but since I don’t ride it I think this is better
IMG_1660.jpeg

Now riding from bar to bar might not be the best idea
But baby steps 😀

I was talking to an Electric Bike salesperson and they said the people who would not normally consider a bike are now buying electric bikes and are actually benefiting from riding them as they try to “pedal” as much as they can…which is more than they were doing before! Makes sense to me as that is what I have found myself doing.

These bikes are the bomb! We ride them all over but I like the darker beers there! Back in the day we used to call the bike rides TT500's. Tavern to Tavern...

I totally get it. I bought an ebike and I’ve been riding much more often, and much further, than I ever did on my analog bike.

By the way, that plate of sausage and pickles in your other post looks damn good. I must be hungry. 😊

Game changers I call em for me... depends on where ya live but near shore its allowed me to ride on days I wouldn't due to winds... they take that out of equation... I may bring mine down to baja now that I see a deep shore line here and catch some peddling off my deck.. All movement is healthy ole sport. Glad its working for ya and happy you got a proper comfy seat!

You guyz who think all e-bikes are all motor are mistaken. Check out Class 3 bikes. Great examples are the Specialized Creo or the latest Trek Domane+. Small motor, no throttle, and lightweight like a road bike should be. My typical rides are 15-30 miles, I’m in the cardio zone or beyond for long periods, and burn 500-1000 calories per ride.

Hahahahahahaha…..

Give me a break. When the guys wife can pass a high level guy on a 10 minute climb, it ain’t a bike anymore. It’s something else.

I was on my road bike back when electric bikes were not common, and I was doing 28mph on a flat bike path. This old guy pulls up alongside of me and then passes me. I tried to get on his wheel and hang with him, but he just wore me out. It ended up being an electric peddle assist bike. I saw him on the same bike path all the time screwing with people on road bikes after that.

It’s all about wattage, max torque and the chosen assist level. If a bike has a 250 max wattage motor, with 35 Nm of torque, and you don’t turn up the assist level to the max, the average person will get a hell of a workout. If you’re a serious road-biker, I’m sure it seems like pussification to you, but for this 69 year old with arthritic knees, it’s the difference between not riding and getting some great exercise. I’m not out there to pretend I’m faster than you.

True…(but he’s in his 60’s as well, and I’m 62 with a fake hip and psoriatic arthritis)

Steve is a top tier rider.
But whether your a world class rider or an e-bike “let’s go get a little exercise” rider, none of the health benefits (big or small) matter when this is the next stop. 😂😂🤷🏼‍♂️

I’ve had an e-bike for a while now, all the fun things I enjoyed a bike as a kid are right there and I look forward to riding it every chance I get. I ride to lunch most days when I’m at my shop, it’s about 6 miles round trip to an area with lots of places to choose from. My bike is a terrible bicycle, the ergonomics are horrible, it weighs 70 lbs, pedaling without assist is futile😂 if it broke down I’d just call AAA and tell the to send a flat bed. But as an e-bike it’s nothing short of amazing, I put a shock on the front and I have a basket for a lock, speaker, water bottle, and a hoodie. The phone straps on the handle bars and we’re off to the races. I have a few friends with them and we’re like little kids out riding our BMX bikes around again, am I getting in shape on it, no. Am I having stupid amounts of simple fun, it’s really hard to measure just how much fun these bikes are. That being said they are fast and if you wad up your gonna get fucked up pretty good, it more like a motorcycle but I ride it on the sidewalks as I don’t trust drivers that are texting not to kill my ass😂

In the end, if you’re enjoying yourself, it’s all good! Mental health counts too.

I have no desire to ride a bike with a throttle, but that’s a personal choice, just like it’s a personal choice if someone chooses to ride an analog bike. Maybe I’ll need a throttle someday, so I’m sure as hell not going to ridicule them. Besides, I’ve yet to see someone using one who isn’t smiling.

Arguing about any of this shit is really kinda assinine, when everybody has different needs and desires.

I have a regular mountain bike also, it’s for a different purpose and I don’t go nearly as many places on it. It’s great for its great for. They aren’t really the same experience at all. The e-bike is just stupid fun, super relaxing wind therapy.

I tell ya, low carb works, if you really pay attention. This plate, lose the sauce and just use mustard, and you can lose weight, and healthy blood work. I'm not here to explain the science, but a guy can read up on it

I disagree
I was going to have that either way so riding the bike and building up a sweat has to be better then driving the car
Is it ideal ? Probably not
But like I said baby steps
And I took a long way home so was pretty tired
Much better than if I had drove

Just had my blood work done.

Total cholesterol 152, my blood pressure averages 116/68 or so.
Liver good, everything good. PSA like a 2 or whatever.
The doctors look at me, 5’7” at 225 and they shake their heads.
More than one has said I’m “Shockingly normal”…
My problem is weight and skeletal, and of course the damned psoriasis/ psoriatic arthritis.
The weight will not fall off in any appreciable way unless I simply fast.
It’s frustrating.
