I am headed to Long Beach convention center displaying our electric trucks at a show May 2-5. I'm staying very close to the convention center and will be without a vehicle since my truck and trailer will be in lock down in the parking lot until the show is over. I will either be on foot or Uber/cab. Is there anywhere close that I need to go for dinner or places to stay away from? I'm not interested in any clubs or anything like that, just suggestions for dinner etc.

There's plenty of options up and down pine street. The bus is free to a certain point as well. Take the bus to 2nd street in the Belmont Shore area for more casual bars and restaurants.

Near pine best bets are Georges Greek Cafe and a Gaucho Grill.

Near Belmont Shore try La Creperie

Plenty to do in that area on foot. Just across the street (Shoreline Dr) there are a ton of places to eat.
Also just to the North on Pine Ave there is plenty of night life and really good restaurants.
Pretty much all within walking distance.

Bau bau (or whatever) is really good too. Have to go to Beachwood BBQ, great beers. Forgot about that one. Both of those are walkable

The stuff near shoreline tends to be more "big box" hooters, p.f chang's, and what-not

Uber over to 2nd Street. Lots of independent places to eat and some cool bars. Make sure you go to Open Sesame... great food and next to my family's store (Romance Etc.).

Downtown/ Pine Ave has some great places... L'Opera and Alegria are always good. I think there is a cool Wiskey Bar on Pine and Alta.

Holy shit this thread pulled old rigger out of hiding!! lol :thumbsup

Like said, there is a ton to do where you are staying. Lots of good restaurants/bars, get to the yard house, and south to second street. Second street can be fun.

Keep in mind it is downtown Long Beach, pay attention if your out late.

I'm guessing Ripples is something I don't want to know about. Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

One of the many gay bars in the area. Stay off Broadway between alamitos and cherry as well.

I work for Long Beach and I'll just say this... Be aware of your surroundings, don't go north of 4th Street, and bring a gun:D
