Wow got a free detail out of it. I wonder what tipped anyone off they had the wrong boat?
Video cameras are everywhere.Wow got a free detail out of it. I wonder what tipped anyone off they had the wrong boat?
Plus unless coincidently the boat scheduled for detail looked like that gray hulled Formula, I'd think the detailer if not 100% sure would have contacted the owner to verify. So, hmmm...
How did they just happen to have a trailer for this particular hull???
Pretty f'n wierd deal all around!

This story is bizarre --- but then as I wrote before, it's Havasu.
This was a few years ago but i had a buddy who bought his daughter a brand new Honda for college, she was going to come home for Christmas and had car all loaded with presents. She decided to stop at beach in route from San Diego state to HB, came back to car and it was gone, only problem was she was one street off, turned it into insurance and got a new car. Police found car right were she left it a month later, still had presents in it.
Probably owner gave wrong slip numberBoat is in slip.
Wrong slip # given by a different boat owner wanting a detail.
Detail crew or guy or ?? Shows up at wrong boat, then what ?
Since it was reported stolen, apparently it was somehow removed from the slip, then either towed or driven somewhere else to be detailed while still in the water ? Hot wired ? Key in boat ? Only at Havasu
Some shops have a “service trailer” and they can usually get bunks to line up within reason. Nordic has one, they’ve offered to pick my boat up at Windsor instead of driving around from The Landing. How did they just happen to have a trailer for this particular hull???
yep! and a lot of us have service keys to start boats as well. I can start 95% of boats and drive them away without the customers key in less than the time it takes to untie them from the dock. Some shops have a “service trailer” and they can usually get bunks to line up within reason. Yup.Sh!t happens all the time…My neighbor got a month of free weekly pool care because a new pool guy was going to the wrong house.

You would think by verifying the reg numbers on the side of the boat this problem could be easily eliminated.. wrong slip or not.yep! and a lot of us have service keys to start boats as well. and ya, being given the wrong slip number is a real problem, it happens a lot. Also very vague descriptions of locations and even the boats themselves.

" You would think " Yes, I agree, with the glaring exception this is Havasu so no, do not assume that for one second. You would think by verifying the reg numbers on the side of the boat this problem could be easily eliminated.. wrong slip or not.
