How is the entry to the river?
Worth a try or not?

Depends on your draft and what underwater gear might go missing if your wrong.

If it’s that outboard in your avatar you should be ok but it might be helpful to stop at the mouth and wait to see who comes from where and follow their reverse course up river. Or follow someone else but stay way back in case they go a bad direction.

It is low up river but nothing new for the last couple of months during the day or this time of year. Right now water release is 1 until 7am then goes up to 2 units, it takes roughly 7/8 hours to get that increased level down to the needles bridge so figure another 1/2 hrs to get to Topoc area. Not sure how long it would take to get down to the gorge or down to the sandbar though, I cannot remember how long it takes from topoc to the sandbar or the mouth of the river/Havi.

Made it to the end of Moabi camp spots and turned around. Everything was fine until on the way home and hit some mud due to shadow on the water A couple hundred yards from re-entering the lake
Went into Topock and turned around. Saw some lower river outboards in there

I just crossed the river in Blythe a little over an hour ago and it looked like a dribble

Pretty sure the lake level is always around this height in the winter months when agricultural releases are at a minimum ?

What does everyone think of the water level over the next 5 to 10 years? Hoping Lake Mead is an isolated incident. Any chance of LHC running lower and lower?

Those were my boys outboards at Topock and we had a ball running yesterday. Launched at Willow Valley and smooth as glass. Did some nice speed runs at dusk. Very fun day!

The only way Havasu can go lower than 444 ish is if they completely stop pumping water into the Colorado River Aqueduct. The straws are just below the surface. It hasn't dipped below 444' since 1942. Normal is 447' to 448'. Below 442 ish the Channel itself would go dry, and I am pretty sure AZ would throw a sh!t fit since the London Bridge is the 2nd most popular tourist attraction in the state next to the Grand Canyon. It is running just above 447' today. The Gorge, and the river above, are a completely different issue as some have noted. That's about releases from Mohave.

Yup, the entire southwest of So Cal would die of dehydration.
Not sure how deep the Az straw is over by the Bill Williams, but it feeds and fills Lake Pleasant from my understanding.
