Das Boat.jpg P6190124.jpg

This is my first and only Hallett so far! The picture at Mead was in Feb '05 when I test drove the boat. it was 35-40 degrees. We ran about 30 miles and I was in heaven. I wore goggles but my face damn near froze! Good thing it was so cold because I found out later the impeller was in 100 pieces!!:grumble::thumbsdown
It's been a great ride but I am still not a fan of that much PURPLE!

Here's a couple motor pics of my Dad's '64 Hallett w/ a Holman Moody 427 side oiler. The boat was a birthday present from my Mom, she bought it from Nick Barron back in '64 :D. I'll have to get some more pics. The paints a little rough, but it is 40 years old.

That motor is art! I will never go look at my plain 502 the same way again...LOL

I know you have put numbers in some other thread but I have not seem them. What did you gain over stock HP and top speed wise? How much work on the drive?

Thanks!

Engine started out as a Paul Pfaff 565 ci na 700 horsepower ...in reality was closer to 625 hp ...added Whipple and fixed a few other issues
now guesstimate about 850 hp . Top speed went from 79 to 96 GPS . Outdrive is an Imco extreme , got about 155hrs before the gears
went south ...

It was white with small yellow/orange stripes, perhaps a small blue one too. Very tastefully done. Had a blown BBC very clean install from what I recall. Lots of nice plumbing. V-drive. Picture of it was on the counter for years at the Earls Hoses counter at Industrial Liquidators when they had shop in San Marcos. Pretty sure the boat owner lived in Fallbrook/Rainbow area, perhaps Vista. I have a picture of it somewhere. It was a serious boat but very clean and understated IMHO.

Thought maybe someone would remember it. Bitchin boat - the kind that sorta haunts the memory.

Thank you for the compliment. The 240 is a 2004. I really did not want to sell the jet boat but my wife and I have two young kids and wanted the extra room and the reliability of fuel injection. Good eye, I was testing the boat for the first time at Puddingstone.
