Here's ours, 1997 with 525sc under the hatch. We love it. 4th season this year with it. We redid the entire interior after the first season and last year I upgraded from hydraulic assist to full hydraulic to helm. Still need to dial in a prop after correcting the drive ratio from the previous owner, 24p for now but feel like it will spin a 26p no problem. who did the interior...that is purdy...PM the general price if you don't mind i would like to update mine...also is your swim step off a 270? mine has a hump...i really like the straight one better...very sharp boat...i'm running a 24 bravo one right now...i am also wondering if mine would pull a bigger wheel.

I'm going to ask the same question. Where did you get the interior done? I have a 1996. Interior definatly needs to be done.

We had it done at West Coast Marine Interiors. Danny did a great job. I did visit wit Arko also who did the interior originally for Hallett, but didn't feel like he was getting what I was after in an updated interior; he kept mentioning he still had the patterns for the 240.

I bought the boat for the solid hull and power package, not because of the interior it had from day 1. Really happy with it and getting what we wanted out of it.

Danny also did a color sand & buff, as well as glass the floor for strength and to tie in the sides of the boat to the floor.

hey 1rvryd did you have the leak flooring before and then glassed over with carpet? arko did the interior upgrade in my 89 240 great fit and finish pretty rugged material too

looks good 707dog. Actually when I had bought the boat, the teak was already removed and carpet glued down. I wasn't knocking Arkos work, just didn't feel the vibe. Plus I was able to do other work on the boat when the interior was out at my house.

westcoast knocks out of the park they are able to handle alot of aspects of the boat withoout having to tow it to multiple shops to complete it and iv always seen top grade work from them..

Thought I would throw out a few new pics. First one is of my '75 Bubbledeck and then our newest addition '73 Hallett Cruiser(project). The Cruiser needs lots of love but no far from the condition of the Bubbledeck when we first brought it home. This thing is HEAVY but she'll float again one day.

bitchin...i saw that right after i bought mine:(...i love the gel...isn't the typical hallett style...
how does it run? what prop? specs?

It's runs perfectly. I've only had it out on the water once (and proceeded to spend 9+ hours :cool) It's got a 26p prop and the 525sc. We have a Tige (for the kids) but after the last holiday weekend my wife wanted something more stable/comfortable that could seat at least 8. I wanted something loud and fast. We both won.

Which boat did you get?

Croz, my old motor looked the same!

Originally I had the early Lightning headers - they had to notch the transom for the headers to fit. Then I ran the SCOPE poker run in the ocean..and found out Lightning's and salt water do not mix. I ended up with water in a couple of cylinders which ultimately led to a bent rod and then flattened cam lobe (I think.) Second set of Lightnings, much lower profile but you can still see the shitty looking notch.

Candy Apple, they look great. If you look at te hatch cover, you will also see the cut-outs; the old Lightnings were huge.

The new motor is also a Candy Apple with non-polished aluminum heads, the Dart and 830 carb are also Candy Apple, I had a pair of sheet metal valave covers built, but I let them go to another build Barry was working on.

Lastly, when I ran in the SCOPE poker run, big blue was not nice that day. The hull flexed so hard that it snapped a piece of the side windshield, right above where the throttle control is. Tough day, I hobbled around for days after that deal, my insides hurt for a week lol.

I don't think it was the salt water, the early lightnings did not have stainless inner tubes. They would rust out. That is what happened to our lightnings and the boat has never been in salt water. The replacement lightnings have stainless inner tubes. I believe they were purchased in the mid to late 90's.
