What's with the extra plate on the drive courious what it does
View attachment 643038

Adds a little transom lift.. We also added the fixed cav plates on the bottom of the boat.

In short used to be if you trimmed the boat it would porpoise. Now you can fly it like an outboard, or bury the nose and anything in between. With both changes it picked up 3 mph.

You know Brad? The guy is certifiable! I was at RR with him and some other buddies and he put down almost 3 or the original recipe rapers and proceed to jump out of the 27 doing about 50 mph back to our house. Totally nuts!

I haven't seen him in 25 years or so.. But when we were kids, we used to hang out just about every weekend at the river. After they sold their house, I don't think I ever saw him again.

Here is my latest Twin I picked up...

Totally lame, way to much weight on the ass with these engines, I plan to re-rig it with a 15” DBR 300X...that I already have!

Still this thing flys, I mean stupid power on it now...

what are OMSieze making for power?NICE rig

I really don’t have a verified hp number but if I had to guess I would say at least 275 maybe pushing 300.

The boat will run right up to 110 with 30’s and I’m sure with my 32’s it will go way faster.

These engines were built but someone in Illinois called Dragon Master...they have all the goodies plus Brucato PCU Efi systems and steam wheels...real nice engines but I’m a die hard Merc guy...
They will be for sale here soon!

Not too many Racey rigged Brummett powered Schiadas out there.

This one isn’t brummett powered. This is his original 22 from 85 with a 496 (rigged by Racey) He sold his other 22 brummett powered boat (a 2005 I think) to his Nephew Derek. They are both very similar in gel and interior. Either way... I couldn’t believe this boat was built and rigged in 85. Beyond well taken care of.

Tell him Dave Johnson (from the keys) says hello.

When we were kids we would go riding almost every weekend.. He went to Mexico with my family, we used to do all kinds of shit. I could tell you some stories you wouldn't believe.

Will do.

To read this thread you’d think everybody on here has some double throw down v drive or cleavers hanging off the back of their boats..

These are not the normal boats I’m seeing in LHC every weekend. Lol

Lol

LOL No shit!!

I represented Team Chaparral with a pic of my SUV back on post #18. I guess that was enough for everyone since they all look the same. [emoji16]

Doug Wright's got it going on these days!

Love to hear more about your boat...is there a review or write up somewhere? Been reading about the first run of 28's on S&F., and I've seen the new 36's for sale online at PBC.

SWEET!

I ain't got one of the Ski Sanger. I will fix that this summer.
Sooo
After drooling through several pages of this incredible thread, a thought hit my feeble, slightly Jack Daniels influenced mind.
Anyone who, for even a split second, doubts that RiverDavesPlace is the absolute College of Boating Knowledge, The MIT of speed on the water, that if has been done in a boat it has been done better by the incredible people who hang out here, I would give you this thread as Peoples Exhibit A.
The people here do this boating deal. Look at the combined knowledge on this board displayed just in this thread.
I need to get the boat home and prepped. I am feeling it. The lake is full.
I gotta go order an impeller.

Interesting to see the various bottoms.. Spectra's only boat looks a little like a hallett 240 with the drop down in the middle.

I'll post a pic of my Hallett up tonight.. It's got a drop down with wings on it that is weird as shit.

RD

My Velocity has a bottom similar to Spectras Only's boat, but has little wings like yours (not as pronounced). On the Velocity's it is called a Stepp bottom designed by Steve Stepp. It also has a notched transom. You can feel the boat loosen up and pick up speed when it gets on that pad thingy. It is a similar concept to a runner bottom v-drive.

Holy drive spacers! That looks interesting

Steve did that previous to me buying it. I can say the boat is docile to drive, and handles perfectly setup like this. I haven't had a chance to start playing around with the setup to see if I might like something else better.
