Pontoon??? I didn't know NORDIC made pontoons??:thumbsdown..... MA, if you buy a pontoon you'll be forever like the vegetable drink commercial, "I coulda had a V8 NORDIC":swear:rolleyes:........... Don't do anything rash.... Maybe let the girls check out the NORDICs???.... The red Nordic will NOT be at the Parker circle races..... Maybe you need to dig out your red NORDIC pictures from the pits at the Enduro.....You can do "pontoon" things on a NORDIC, but you can't do "NORDIC" things on a pontoon....:D:D

So what's the budget here MA??

I do know of a pontoon at Mohave that needs some new seat covers and some TLC. Not sure about price, and I have NOT seen it. If "the budget" is an issue I can inquire about it.... I would hate myself if I was instrumental in MA going against her real desire to own the red Nordic..... :grumble:

I was thinking the same thing Mock...Polor bear, what a great Christmas gift that would be :p

Yeah, until a red Nordic cruised by..... You really had to be there to see her eyes light up while "up close and personal" with that Nordic after the enduro... Talking to the drivers and crew, most of which were from Nordic Boats.....

Now don't be silly Ray. I would not let those rug rats step one foot on my beautiful red Nordic. That will be kept strictly on a need to know basis and they don't need to know! :D The pontoon will just be a beater boat. ;) Shhh.

There's a big difference between Mommy's boat and the kidlet's boat.

OK so I have little to no experience with pontoons so that is good to know. Most of them will be kids though. Probably my 2 girls and 2 friends and my mom & step dad.

here is the deal with coast guard ratings.

They are listed in numbers of people, then weight you can hold.

Its often for the number of people to be way high. like 10-12, but by the time you add in fuel, ice chests, "junk" you very well could be looking at 1200-1400 lbs. No many people out there that are less then 100 lbs.

Like you would ride on my beater pontoon boat. We have your nice boat for our private outings. ;) :champagne: The toon is for the kids. In fact, your little Melissa got a private invite from my girls. Remember?! We can properly christen it if you like before my mom & I take the kids out while you are working. :champagne:

I'd ride in any boat you skipper.

Just don't ask me to fetch your trailer and back it down the launch ramp, cuz I'll be hammered. :drnkfr

Being able to back a trailer automaticly adds a point to the 1-10 hotness scale. If they can do it with a stick it adds 2 points

If this was used in salt water I'd pass, but the price is right for a newer model

Wow really nice. I like that one. Tritoon too, right? Bet I could make a cash offer and take it for cheaper. What do you think??[/QUOTE]

Patience my lil filly... Summer is a ways off. Let's do some shopping. It's only 22'.

Let's look at the one in Havi that ya like. Then we can look at that one and some others. They're going nowhere...

Were you at RD's last weekend too?

I noticed all of the Best Muffler Shop hats, but didn't get a chance to meet ya.

When you find a 'toon, can you sell it to MA for a loss before next summer. Save me a lot of trouble. :D

Gonna need you to toss in a hat to seal the deal. :skull

MA, regardless of size, or price, make the seller get the toon WET before you buy it... At least an hour cruise to expose any issues the boat may have, and pull the pontoon "plugs" both BEFORE, (to be sure they're totally dry), and AFTER to see if they took on any water... Planing, steering, bimini, engine power, (smoke ?, noise ?), control consul (switches sirens, bells), swim step(s).... Put the boat through the paces as though it was being used for fun, and see if there are any hidden issues.... Kinda like driving a used car before you buy it, but 10 times more detailed...AND toon trailers aint cheap either, so look it over real well..... Any seller that makes some lame excuse as to why they can't put the boat in the water, offer them no more than 1/2 the asking price, and/or, grab your wallet and RUN away....

Never, ever buy a boat( turnkey or suposed turn key) that the owner won't put in the water.

A little more than you wanna spend, but it might be worth it.

http://mohave.craigslist.org/boa/2010294205.html

That one seems a little odd in that the railing stops at what would consider the MOST important area.............the bow!

I could care less if one of my drunk passengers fell off of the side of the boat...................not off of the bow while under way.

Just looks like someone removed it......................dunno why?

Good luck with your search!
