I've been here since Friday staying at my buddy's place. Going to a party for new years then driving home on Wednesday (northern NV). Hoping traffic won't be too bad and that everyone will be hung over and laying low.

I got invited to two different NYE events in vegas. Host said she'll cover room, flights, food and give me gambling $$ and I turned it down. She nickeled and dimed me on the last few trips so we've decided to stop going to Vegas for a while. Still going in January for my son's 21st birthday but no more after that. It's just not as fun as it used to be. Even being comped it's still expensive. Switching to traveling to other places we haven't been to yet.

Years ago my friends and I would rent tour buses on NYE and go to the Hard Rock in Vegas for the night. We would leave in the afternoon on the 31st and come home from Vegas at like 7am the next morning and party all the way home, then have a raging party when we got home.. Those were some great times.

I’ve done the Vegas strip several times and Times Square once for NYE. Vegas is pricey and crazy but still a good time. New York…you couldn’t pay me to do that cattle call ever again. What a nightmare. Only thing worse was sleeping on the street at the Rose Parade. I prefer to watch it all on TV from my little LHC safe zone

If I ever did the Tahoe or Vegas NYE deal again it would definitely be at Red Rock. I guess I went about 10 years ago with my wife (or soon to be) and we stayed at the Trump place. The fireworks were pretty amazing to see from our high up room but just way too many people.

Same here, Caesars and Bellagio bombarded me with NYE suite, a few K fsp at each, all food and hotel services comped and and their parties and I said NO due to the crowd and headaches related to NYE in Vegas, did the same for Formula 1. We go 6-8 times a year now that we no longer live there and just got back from a 4 night stay during Christmas, got a nice suite, 2k gambling FSP, and all meals and services comped, actually spent 1/4th of what we normally spend so I call this last trip a winning successful trip lol. Crazy that on the 23rd and 24th Christmas Eve the Casino seemed 40% occupancy and we could hit any table or machine we wanted with no issues, then on the 25th 100% full.

Agreed. We hadn't been since prior to covid. We went in September for the nieces 21st for three days. I could have went to Mexico for 10 days for what it cost.

Worst NYE ever. Many years ago playing in a band, we had a very late cancellation for our NYE gig. Amazingly, we got a last minute call from Donny Brooks (Mission Belle etc) asking us to appear with him at a gig in Rubidoux CA. Also on the bill was Dorsey Burnette (Tall Oak Tree etc). Because of NYE and the last minute request, the pay was going to be really good. So, we drove out to Rubidoux from Downey and played. When the gig was over, I went into the office to receive our pay for the night. The guy said, I gave it all to Dorsey. You’ll have to get it from him. Dorsey had hauled ass. We never saw or heard from him again.

I took some crazy hooker that I met in the main quad of my college up there for NYE one year, I was 21 at the time and trying to get laid. This chick was pretty hot, but she was fucked in the head. Shortly after midnight we tucked into Caesar’s to meet up with some of my other friends. Ended up pawning this crazy hooker off on some crew of random dudes that she was into. Next time I Saw that broad was about 8 years later on the front page of our local newspaper for trying to drive her car off a cliff with her kids in it. The car got hung up on a guard rail or something and they all lived, she went to prison. Always wondered if those kids belonged to one of those random dudes from that night in Vegas

We ended up over at club called “The Drink” late night and then drove back home in the morning, quick turnaround just to be on the strip at midnight. It was a fun night, but not something I ever wanted to do again.

I drove home from Vegas yesterday morning. Left Resorts world at 9am and was home to Fallbrook in 4.5 hours but I had to go full asshole mode to get around the SUV's packed full of gifts. Traffic was building in both directions very quickly. Never again.
