If you're ever fortunate enough to be invited to Club 33, go. It is a unique and classy place. We've been 3 times and each time has been amazing. Good friend was a member.

If you haven’t already, Download the Disneyland app, you can order food at certain restaurants and have it ready to avoid long lines.

D'world has those VIP passes where you don't stand in line for a ride. Not sure if D'land has them. Never used them. Think you'd be pissing off a bunch of people waiting in line.

That's awesome, have a good time. We logged a lot of hours at DL when our girls were younger and I loved every minute, crowded or not.

Yes they do but you'll be spending an additional $135 each for that fast pass...

So one of the things that always blew me away about Disneyland etc.. The fact that they don’t overlook any details. Most anywhere would just run metal railings everywhere.. Disney takes the time to investment cast details at every joint.

There’s probably 5,000.00 worth of castings on the top of these railings on this ride alone. Not including all the other details.. this is just the hand railings. Let alone the storm drains etc..

That ride used to be like a giant air hockey table, I haven't been on it since they changed it.

My wife's cousin is an exec for Disney and the closest I've gotten to 33 in the Blue Bayou.

Check out guardians of the galaxy. You can tell your kids you know the guy who ran that project :D

That ride scared the living shit outta me. I was so concerned for my son that I never used the handles. Put all of my 320 pound faith into that seat belt! He had a blast though!

I have my kids etc so don’t think we are going to be straying much out of the Disney scene. I am hoping there’s a restaurant local to the Anaheim desert inn that is decent. By local I mean walking distance.. parking is at a premium around here and I don’t want to lose my spot! Lol

Well thank you I sure appreciated the refreshment you gave me at the sand and sport show in Costa Mesa. We are just old school trying to pretend we are relevant nowadays:) I have watched your threads about the whittling you have done in your garage and really admired and enjoyed it, I find the machining on the spot like you do to help someone out is the coolest use of your talent.

Missed you by a day Dave. We just got back today from a week long trip with the last 3 being at Disney. Lines were pretty rough, and CA adventure was packed with two of their biggest rides being closed. Hopefully you were able to catch the nightly light parade on the adventure side.

I haven’t turned on my machines in six months and was just staring at them the other day wondering if I should sell it all. Then I back handed myself and decided that I’m going to start using them more and might even get a project v drive to build. Lol

As soon as I get home I’m gonna make some parts just to get back into the habit. It really is when I’m happiest, when metal is hitting the floor.

Didn’t catch the night parade..

Today I decided to sleep in and let Stacy take the other two kids to the park by herself. Honestly was the best part of the vacation so far. Lol

We are doing Disneyland today. Calif Brian adventure is cool but honestly nothing captures the “magic” like Main Street Disneyland.

I have been here for thirty seconds and am having flashbacks from when I was a kid.

I hear ya sometimes it cool to see other peoples work just like you pointed out the castings on the railings, being a machinist you have an appreciation for the complexity of components and the fun of creating them and a desire to make them less complex.
Check out this video I ran into on https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRMxcpgVb1Lo4r5tiRQkjkA

Gotta admit that was more entertaining and bizarre then most machinist videos.. lol. I have seen that Co Celt quite a bit with cubes. First time I ya e seen the but. Same process though.

Somewhere I have a machined cube that is nickel plated and a cube inside of it that is copper plated.. shows the machining the machining skills and plating skills. Lol.

So today I took my newly turned 4 year old (Happy Birthday Summer!) and 5 year old on thunder mountain. They said that was the scariest ride ever. :D

So we went in over to Space mountain. Summer said she’s not scared of anything. :D. So I started laying it on pretty thick. Right down to sometimes people don’t come back from this ride, and Daddy really loves you both. We got almost to the ride and there was a bunch of people at the ditch out exit deal.. I was quick to point out that they were to scared to ride. Daniels hears everything and is paying close attention. Summer even at 4 dismisses it all... right up until that first drop and that thing turned hard right and started hauling ass in pitch black.

Who woulda thought that little girl had grip strength like that. She grabbed a hold of my arm and wasn’t letting go for nothing. Honestly I don’t think I could have got her off of me if I was swinging her around.

Of course by this point I am laughing so hard my eyes are watering. She’s scared but still holding it together. Then drop two and three come and she completely loses her shit and started screaming.

Oh god... lol. The joys of being a parent. If you don’t have kids ya just wouldn’t understand.

I asked her after we got off if she wanted to go again.. “nope!” You scared? “Nope!” Lol. She cracks me up.

FYI guys if you haven’t been on space mountain In Awhile they either made that thing even darker then it was before (hard to believe almost) or my eyes really can’t see at night now that I’m older.. I used to be able to barely see the tracks when I was younger, I couldn’t see jack shit this time around. It’s like pitch black. You can see some of the structure In spots but that is about it.

Not sure if it’s me or the ride but I think. It’s the ride.

They redid pirates awhile back and what used to be my favorite ride in the whole park has now turned into the symbol Of political correctness to me..

Now the girls are chasing the men.. the guy isn’t selling women anymore they are selling chickens. They changed a whole bunch of little things and it just sucks that people are that sensitive nowadays.

FYI I looked into that Club 33 deal while I was standing in line.. virtually zero chance of getting into that deal if you aren’t already.

It’s not even the money (which isn’t for the faint of heart) 25k to join and 10k a year.. It’s the impossible waiting list etc..

I read online they opened up a 100 spots awhile back and there was a waiting list of over 800 filled with ballers and celebrity types etc.

I’ve been invited. I’ll never be a member but I’m sure I’ll make it in one of these days. Working there I met some of the right people.
