FWIW, a home in our California neighborhood just sold to Canadians. Just wondering if true or just media fear.

Ok CNBC!😉
The ones I know and the handful I randomly met this winter in Havasu all drive here. So to base it on air travel???
The reduction in the number of available seat miles between Canada and the US is objectively measurable in the public filings of airlines.

However, that could be business trips as opposed to vacation/leisure trips as you point out many may drive.

Commerce between the two countries will naturally fall during a trade war, so business travel should logically fall especially with the airlines.

I always laugh when the Canadian PM and news is like “Canadians won’t be coming to snow bird this year”
Ohhhhhh, don’t threaten me with a good time. Bunch of fuckin old people on fixed income crowding up the place won’t be here? Oh Worries me. 🙄🙄

well, bye!

For the record, I call bullshit. Like these old people are gonna winter it out? Yeah, sure.
Secondly, those that won’t come are going to be such a small percentage, it won’t even be felt financially in town.

This is a bonus for the snowbirds from Wisconsin, Minnesota, etc.
Many of the RV sites are set to automatically renew each year so people can be near their winter friends.
The Canadians leaving will open up some prime spots.

Daughter was just in Vancouver and Toronto last week visiting girlfriends from college.
About 6 girls went up to visit. Daughter and friend flew in while others drove up to Vancouver from Portland.
Daughter moved through Customs easily both arriving and departing.
Girls that drove made it past Border easily but got detained to 2 hours coming back in US because they found one of the girls had pepper spray on them.
They ultimately let the girls go and they were able to keep the spray.

They did not have any rude or mean encounters the 4 or 5 days they spent up there.

You mean all the bars on the river can put the condiments back out on the bar instead of hiding them from those cheapskates, haha. Never thought they were very friendly anyway...........

We have met many Canadians that travel to Havasu for vacation, and some own homes there. Are people hearing they are not coming?
they're retards if the tariff is the issue for them. I think it has more to do with the canadian dollar shit the bed, or they're flaming liberals you don't want them.:p Mexico is cheaper, friend bought a brand new condo in PV with golf course and marina walking distance.;)

Most Canadians suffer from that chronic disease known as "Long TDS"

The funny thing is their Liberal Leadership are actual communists taking away all their rights but they're perfectly ok with that. It's Insane!
I wouldn't say most Canadians, only same percentage what you guys have in your country, lol ;)

Tank, no Canadians on fixed income could afford snowbirding in the US. For the record, the highest bracket fixed income in Canada is around $19,000K per year. Pretty much all the people I know who spends months in the winters in the US, quite frankly are millionaires. Could be some cheapskates, but that's another scenario.;):p

Had dinner with 5 Canadians last night. I think 3 were libs and 2 conservative. I asked if they have had any problems with Americans treating them bad. All said no. I asked about the exchange rate and they all said it was Canada's fault the exchange rate was so bad. One said they drove by the Tesla store yesterday and there were 5 protesters. LOL

Our Country Clubs are still packed with Canadians. I don’t see any change at all. All the ones I’ve dealt with and talked to are conservative. They hate liberals and Trudeau more than us… Lol.

To generalize them all as liberals is ridiculous.

I’m not sure how accurate this is. Most snowbirds are here now (so not much travel) They come down in Oct/Nov and don’t head back until April/May. End of next month is when they’ll be heading back to stay within their 6 month limit.

Stop listening to corporate media, it is not accurate news.

One of our favorite couples in Islander during snowbird season are Canadians. he is a former MP and the former department of transportation. He is extremely well connected to the Canadian Conservative party. The exchange rate is the real reason, not fear. He said maybe one more year at Islander for them and he will likely stop coming. Simply because he is getting older, it costs him 35% more than US snowbirds and they want to do something different after a decade in Havasu.

We find them to be amazing company.

One of my subordinates lives in Toronto, she hopes they become the 51st state. All her Millennial friends also want to be American. She told me the fake news in Canada is reporting that the USA has reinstated the military draft to spread fear. We assumed it was to give the perception of an invasion of Canada, and perhaps scare the younger people from supporting the USA.

Nature is the only truth.

Let's wait to see who wins the election to determine the percentage of LIbtards in Canada, lol. They voted in Fidel Jr. (Trudeau) 3 times.

This... I'm pretty sure a Canadian Conservative is a U.S. Liberal in comparison. Of course there are always the varying degree's, but you wanna talk about importing millions of democrat voters...🤷‍♂️

I tend to think of Canada like California. It's just a bigger land mass and they have French as opposed to Spanish.

They also each have pockets of Conservatives, but not the same kind of conservatives that live in rural America.

Do you know how he won last time? The NDP [ commies ] led by a hindu, joined the liberals to beat out the tories, that's how. It's the canadian way to cheat, fuckers! You are lucky to have a two party system, unlike we have three, so this type of cheating can lead to.:p

I rented to Canadian snowbirds once.
They rearranged all my furniture, moved the upstairs sofa downstairs, and left a Christmas Tree setup in the front yard.
But they also waxed the Jet Ski in the garage cause they were bored one day.
Took less time to put the furniture back than to wax the jetski, so I guess it was a win
